Thorpe Park Resort has received three nominations for the ScareCON Scar awards, the annual event which champions and recognises all aspects of the scare industry – from year round scare attractions to Halloween events.

In the nominations for the 8th annual awards, the resort picked up nominations in the following categories:

  • Best Overnight Scare Experience – The Extra Cut
  • Best Street Team and Entertainment – The Roaming Horde
  • Best Halloween Scream Park – Fright Nights

These latest nominations follow on from last year’s success which saw The Cabin in The Woods win Best Halloween Scare Attraction/Maze. However, 2015 sees the resort collect one fewer nomination than in 2014.

A number of other Merlin Entertainments attractions also feature in the nominations, with Alton Towers Resort picking up three nominations, York, London, and Edinburgh Dungeons all picking up nominations for Best Year Round Scare Attractions, and Best Educationally Scary Attraction, and Warwick Castle picking up nominations for Best Halloween Scare Attraction/Maze for Blackout, and Best Educationally Scary Attraction for the Castle Dungeon.

Now in its eighth year, the SCAR awards are held annually by ScareCON in association with ScareTOUR (a site dedicated to providing independent reviews of scare attractions all over the world) and SIGA Fear FX. Held at a well-known attraction each year, the 2015 ScareCON event is due to be held at Thorpe Park Resort on 19th June, and will bring together professionals from across the scare industry, including designers, owners, fans and experts.
