Thorpe Park Resort has submitted plans for a single story extension to the existing Pizza Hut restaurant located between Nemesis Inferno and Rumba Rapids.
The submitted plans propose a single storey extension to the south west side of the existing building, situated on the area currently taken up by outdoor seating for the Pizza Hut restaurant. Covering a floor area of 180.2sqm, the new extension will have a flat roof, meaning it will be lower than the existing building, and will allow natural light in through a series of roof lights. A new covered outdoor seating area will also be created which will be enclosed on three sides by wooden fencing, and covered by a fabric awning providing shelter from the elements. Alongside the extension, the main restaurant building itself will receive a total refurbishment with the entry points all having bi-folding double doors installed, and three large windows being added to provide natural light.
This most recent application follows on from a previous extension to the Mexican Cantina restaurant, which was extended for the 2014 season. The new extension is designed to help the resort cope with the increasing demands for the indoor seating areas in their food outlets and help ‘improve the visitor experience’.
