In a general update at Thorpe Park, there’s lots going on in preparation for the start of the main season.

Following the closure of Thorpe Farm, a new route for Canada Creek Railway is being constructed. The existing circuit around Canada Creek has been cut off from the route to the farm, and the train will make a simple journey around the area. The new route should still be pleasant, with scenic views of Thorpe Park’s Canadian Rockies, the lake, and Logger’s Leap.

The future site of the Thorpe Park Hotel has been cleared of all Cemex structures with the exception of the large buildings pictured, which await demolition.

Infilling of the lake by Samurai continues for the new coaster in 2009. The land will require a period of settlement before any real construction can commence.

Slammer is yet to open, and is still undergoing intensive winter maintenance. The top of the rise structure is still detached, and can be clearly seen in guest view next to Samurai.

Flying Fish is coming along nicely, with the ride in the final phase of construction.
