A planning application submitted in September 2015 revealed that Chessington World of Adventures Resort, in conjunction with Go Ape, were intending to open a high ropes course by the South Car Park, next to the Sixty Acre Wood.
Original Application
The plans indicated that two courses would be constructed – a “junior course” aimed at younger guests (under 10) which would take approximately one hour to complete, and a larger “adult course” which would take approximately three hours to complete and end with a lengthy zip wire. Segway Application
In July 2017, plans were submitted to allow Go Ape to operate ‘Forest Segway Tours’ in the Sixty Acre Wood alongside the high ropes course. However, these plans were ultimately never implemented, with no Segway course opening. Read our full article here.
