The development was first revealed in plans submitted by Chessington in September 2019. These showed that the new drop tower, standing at an overall height of 25.6m, would be a direct replacement for Rameses Revenge. The key theming feature was shown to be a 12.1m tall and 12.5m wide open-mouthed crocodile head, situated around the tower to make it appear that guests are plummeting into the crocodile’s open mouth as the 16-seat gondola drops. While the realised development closely resembled the submitted plans, notable differences include the ride being constructed at a more similar level to the surrounding area, rather than being sunk into the pit where Rameses Revenge was located, and the final attraction not featuring any of the planned water features.
