With closed season now well underway, Thorpe Park Resort and Chessington World of Adventures Resort have revealed their provisional opening dates and times for the 2018 season on each of their respective short breaks websites.

Thorpe Park Resort
The Island will open for the 2018 season on Friday 23rd March with the Resort open from 10am-4pm, whilst the first Saturday of the season (24th March) will see hours of 10am-6pm, and Sunday 25th March is set to be 10am-5pm. Off peak days in March through to June will see the Island open 10am-4pm, a reduction of one hour compared to the 2017 season. July will see the Resort open 10am-5pm Sundays to Fridays, and 10am-6pm on Saturdays up until the start of the school summer holidays on Monday 23rd July. Interestingly, the provisional calendar indicated that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer holidays (until Friday 31st August) the Resort will open 10am-10pm – could this suggest the return of Summer Nights or a similar event?

Fright Nights, the Island’s annual Halloween event, is currently set for 5th-7th, 12th-14th, 19th-31st October with its usual 10am-10pm opening times. It would appear that there will not be the additional weekend in September for Fright Nights, although it is perhaps worth noting that the additional weekend for 2017 wasn’t confirmed until mid way through the season. Ministry of Sound nights will also be making a return with current dates set for 26th May, 30th June, 28th July and 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th August.

The 2018 season will also see an increase in the number of closed days at Thorpe Park Resort. The Island will be closed on off-peak Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in May and April (during 2017 the Resort was open 10am-5pm). During September and October the Resort will also close on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as Thursday 27th September, and all Thursdays in October.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
Chessington World of Adventures Resort will get their 2018 season underway with the Annual Pass Celebration Weekend on 10th-11th March. The Resort will fully open to the public on Saturday 17th March with opening times of 10am-5pm.

2018 looks set to see the Resort add an additional weekend to their popular Howl’o’ween event with the event running on 13th-14th, and 19th-31st October and the Resort open from 10am-8pm.

The Resort will also have a number of closed days with off-peak Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March, April, May, September, and October seeing the Resort closed. These follow a similar pattern to the closed days for the 2017 season.
