Thorpe Park Resort and Chessington World of Adventures Resort Nominated for ScareCON SCAR Awards

In the nominations for the 11^th annual awards, the Resorts picked up nominations in the following categories:

Thorpe Park Resort

• Best Set, Costume and Make-Up – The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare

Chessington World of Adventures Resort

• Best Set, Costume and Make-Up – Creepy Caves Unearthed
• Best Original Concept – Creepy Caves Unearthed

These latest nominations follow on from successes in previous years which have seen The Cabin in the Woods win ‘Best Halloween Scare Attraction’ in 2014; three nominations in both 2015 and 2016, and two nominations in 2017 although Thorpe Park Resort have left empty handed when the results were announced. This year’s nominations mark the first time Chessington World of Adventures Resort have received nominations for their scare attractions, something which is a testament to the hard work put in by the Chessington team to their 2017 offering.

A number of other Merlin Entertainments attractions also feature in the nominations with Alton Towers Resort picking up two nominations, and Madame Tussauds, London Dungeon and Warwick Castle picking up one nomination a piece.

Now in its eleventh year, the SCAR awards are held annually by ScareCON in association with ScareTOUR (a site dedicated to providing independent reviews of scare attractions all over the world) and Fear FX.  Held at a well-known attraction each year, the 2018 ScareCON event will be held at Alton Towers Resort on 22^nd & 23^rd May 2018, and brings together professionals from across the scare industry, including designers, owners, fans and experts.
