2016 will see Legoland Windsor Resort celebrate its 20th anniversary year and the Resort have recently released the first details of some of their plans for the new season which will see the theme park open to guests for the first time on March 11th.

One of the main attractions for the new season will be the introduction of ‘The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure’. As we previously reported, the new film will re-unite the original LEGO® Movie™ cast including Emmet, Wyldstyle, Benny and Unikitty in a new story which will once again see them thrown into the middle of an evil plot. They will also be joined by a new character, Risky Business, as the film uses a range of elements and special effects from wind and water, to smoke and special lighting effects.

The popular Star Wars™ Miniland will also see a new addition with a 500, 000 brick recreation of one of the most recognisable features from the popular film series – Darth Vader’s Death Star. The Death Star will be the main feature of a new finale which will recreate the Rebel Alliance attack on the space station from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and will also include 16 Alliance ships along with light and sound effects able to be triggered by guests. The Resort have also confirmed that the popular Star Wars™ event days will return for the May Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 30th April, Sunday 1st May, and Monday 2nd May).

2016 also marks 20 years since Legoland Resort Windsor first opened to the public with the site having previously been the home of the Windsor Safari Park. The Resort are promising further updates throughout the year detailing special 20th anniversary activities.
