Merlin Entertainments have announced that a new 4D short film based on the hit LEGO Movie will be coming to Legoland Parks and Legoland Discovery Centres worldwide later this year.

Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The LEGO Group, the new film will be exclusive to the six Legoland parks – including Legoland Windsor Resort – and eleven Legoland Discovery centres. The new 4D animated film will feature all the familiar characters from the 2014 hit movie, including Emmet and Wyldstyle, and will utilise a range of special effects from, water, wind and smoke, to special lighting effects to bring the awesome adventure to life for guests.

Speaking about the new partnership, Merlin Entertainments Chief Executive Officer Nick Varney said:

We’re excited to be partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The LEGO Group on such a, dare I say, awesome, adventure. Emmet and Wyldstyle have become immensely popular at our theme parks and Discovery Centers across the globe and bringing this new 4D movie exclusively to our guests continues our Merlin philosophy of creating memorable family experiences.

This latest announcement comes after Merlin entertainments announced a 34.6% rise in pre-tax profits. Much of this rise has been attributed to the effects of the LEGO Movie encouraging guests to visit the parks, with many of the Legoland parks featuring activities themed around the popular film.
