Part of Mexicana and the Children’s Zoo at Chessington World of Adventures was transformed over the course of 2025 and early 2026 into World of PAW Patrol, a new themed land aimed at preschoolers and their families, with a selection rides including a junior rollercoaster.

31st December 2024

Here is a final look at Mexicana prior to the addition of construction hoarding in preparation for demolition and construction to take place.

1st May 2025

Paw Patrol has now been announced as the IP of the new land with promotional images and links to further information featured on new hoarding around the construction site. Demolition of Mexicana and the surrounding area has commenced.

15th May 2025

The demolition of Mexicana has taken place, with Scorpion Express, the old buildings and facades, dining location and games unit have all removed. In addition, the children’s zoo has been removed along with the removal of the seating and picnic area behind Croc Drop. A large pile of rubble is currently located within the centre of the site ahead of construction commencing on the new area.

6th July 2025

Following the announcement of Paw Patrol, concept art and themed graphics have been added to the construction hoarding around the area. This suggests that the area’s flagship family-friendly rollercoaster will be themed around Police Pup Chase and supporting attractions will see two new family flat rides focused on Water Rescue Dog Zuma and Helicopter Pilot Skye, with the area’s fourth attraction seeing Jungle Bus relocated from Wild Asia and themed around Firedog Marshall. Within the construction site, foundations for the new rides and structures have begun to take place. Most noticeably the footers and foundations for the new roller coaster have commenced on the helix drop and are continuing to be worked on back towards the station.

17th August 2025

The Paw Patrol themed area has now gone vertical with the steel framework for the building structure now beginning to go into place. This building is planned to feature the brand new shop and toilets for the area. Foundations for the brand new children’s roller coaster are now complete along with three concrete pads for the station and theming structures. Brick walls are being constructed around the perimeter of the new coaster, likely to assist with elevation changes within the area.

27th August 2025

The steel framework for the brand new shop and toilets has continued and a small structure has begun being erected on the top of the roof. A small brick structure has begun construction to the side of where the lift hill of the new family coaster shall be located. The large pile of rubble has been moved and a large construction crane is now on site.

8th September 2025

Over the past few weeks, the steel framework for the station building of the new junior roller coaster has begun to go into place. External cladding has been installed for the brand new shop and toilets. The movement of dirt and rubble across the site has revealed the concrete base for one of the new flat rides within the area.

4th October 2025

A lot has happened on the Paw Patrol construction site over the past month. A lot of steel framework has been erected around what will be the lift hill and first drop of the new junior roller coaster. Metal cladding has been added to the exterior of the main building at the back of the land with some further steel framework still visible for external detailing. Some of the first theming pieces for the new area have begun to arrive onsite and are currently positioned in the centre of the roller coaster’s helix. Outside in the explorer entrance carpark, the storage area which has been housing Kobra now has a new delivery from Zamperla with the first ride hardware for the new area. Here you can clearly see the Paw Patrol logo as well as the pink and purple colour scheme which suggests that this attraction shall be themed around Skye’s rescue helicopters.

19th October 2025

Supports for the Paw Patrol themed roller coaster have arrived on site at the staging area. This delivery follows the first flat ride arriving from Zamperla, with more deliveries expected in the coming weeks. Over on the construction site, work has continued on central rock work theming for the roller coaster. The steel framework for the theming wall around the back of the roller coaster has seen more progress. Additionally, the pathways within the area are being mapped out with the ground being levelled and compacted across the entire construction site. Resin bound flooring has started to be poured across the area, in a similar fashion to what has been featured in other recent projects.

25th October 2025

Got to love a fresh delivery! What appears to be bright red Zierer track has now been delivered to the staging area at Chessington. Over on the construction site, framework for the rollercoaster entrance structure has been installed, which could eventually be a lookout or lighthouse theming feature. Elsewhere on site, the concrete bases for the supporting attractions are being finished off, along with further pouring of the area’s flooring.

8th November 2025

Since our last update, the supports and track for the entirety of the Zierer Junior Coaster layout has been installed. At the time of our visit, the construction crew were in the process of installing the walkways on the side of the lift hill. Thanks to Conrad Coaster Photography for the update.

11th November 2025

Attraction Source was granted exclusive access by Chessington to the construction site of the new for 2026 PAW Patrol land to gain a unique perspective of the latest progress on the Zierer Junior Coaster and the area’s facilities and retail building. Whilst on the construction site, we also had the opportunity to watch crews install the purple central column for one of the area’s new family flat rides – manufactured by Zamperla, the ride will see guests take flight in one of Skye’s helicopters.

29th November 2025

Additional work has now taken place on the Zamperla flat ride that we saw fitted into place in our last update. A character figure and eagle have been added to the top of the rockwork surrounding the roller coaster. What looks to be the blue steel frame for the bridge structure shown in the concept art has started to be erected within the area between the location of the two new flat rides.

21st December 2025

The area is really starting to come together with theming being installed on the various attractions and structures, including panels for what appears to be the lookout tower, the facade for the retail building, and bridge structure next to the future play area. The Paw Patrol characters that were photographed in our last update have been wrapped up for winter. Fencing has been added around the junior coaster, and the operator’s booths have been installed for the other attractions.

29th January 2026

Construction of World of PAW Patrol reached an exciting milestone, with the iconic Lookout Tower now in-situ as the land’s centrepiece, complete with pup tag! We were granted access to the construction site to see the Lookout Tower and the rest of the area up close, with Rubble also paying a visit to check out the latest progress.

21st February 2026

Since our last update, the names for each of the rides within the World of Paw Patrol have been announced. The Zierer force roller coaster will be known as Chase’s Mountain Mission – it doesn’t have the train on the track yet but has arrived in storage at the park. With the majority of the queue line and theming now installed, the ride is in the process of having some additional work done on the station building ahead of testing commencing.

The Zamperla Samba Tower will be known as Skye’s Helicopter Heroes – this attraction is nearing completion with ride area fencing now in place. Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure has also been fully installed, as the second drifter flat ride from Zierer – we cannot wait to experience it! The only ride system still awaiting installation is the refurbished Jungle Bus. Now known as Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue, the ride structure is waiting for the gondola to be moved from storage into position.

Elsewhere within the land, additional theming, building facades and the games structure have all been installed with still some work required to get them to their final standard. A metal structure has also gone into place around the site for additional theming so that the land feels more immersive, reducing views into backstage areas.

30th March 2026

The World of PAW Patrol is nearing completion with the majority of the models and theming now in place across the land. The cartoon world from the popular children’s TV show is full of colour, personality and fun photo opportunities.

Since our last update the cladding has been finished on what is going to be the PAW Patrol gift shop, the flooring has gone into place across the land and landscaping work has been completed. The rides have all begun testing within the area with their signage and models now unwrapped. The queue line fencing also seems to have been completed for each of the rides.

With some finishing touches still remaining across the land, we are excited for the entrance sign for the area to be unveiled and for the area to open for everyone to enjoy in May.

8th April 2026

In our final PAW Patrol construction update, additional work has been taking place bring the finishing touches to the area. Ride testing is now well underway with Skye’s Helicopter Heroes and Chase’s Mountain Mission cycling during our visit. Filming was taking place for the new land today, this meant that the Zierer Force Jr Coaster had riders. The wrapping has now also come down off the entrance sign for the area which also reads ‘you saved the day’ upon exit from the area.
