Magical Christmas throws open the doors to Drayton Manor Resort on selected dates this winter. With a fantastic line-up of the park’s family attractions, including the much loved Thomas Land, and a brilliant Christmas grotto experience, Magical Christmas is really showcasing how you can successfully run a limited offering during the traditional closed season. Attraction Source were invited to experience Magical Christmas for the media preview of the event, and had a fantastic time exploring Drayton Manor in all its festive splendour!
The Grotto Experience is the headline festive attraction at Magical Christmas, and within it Drayton Manor transport guests into a festive wonderland where guests end up meeting Santa Claus. Activities in the Grotto Experience include story time with Mrs Claus, writing letters to Santa, and of course, meeting Santa himself! The experiences within the Grotto are naturally made for families and children, but the theming and presentation of the experience makes it something that can still be enjoyed by people of all ages!
The new for 2022 Gingerbread Decorating Workshop allows you to create your own sweet treat! You take the train from Knapford Station and arrive into a festive wonderland where you are greeted by magical elves! You will then be provided with all the tools and supplies needed to create your own Gingerbread creation that you can devour!
Santa’s House Party is a 15-20 minute live show where you can join Santa and Elf Tinsel for their Christmas house party! The show takes guests on a journey to bake a cake for Mrs Claus and then clean up and get the house ready for the Christmas house party! With show times throughout the day at multiple different times, and fun, dancing and festive cheer throughout, Santa’s House Party is certainly not something to miss at Magical Christmas!
Drayton Manor have opened a number of their rides and attractions for guests of Magical Christmas, these include, but are not limited to, all of Thomas Land, Accelerator, Bounty, Jolly Buccaneer as well as Thor and Sleipnir within their new for 2022 Vikings area. During Magical Christmas, you are also able to explore the resort’s fantastic 15-acre zoo where you can meet the animal residents! Although the park’s headline thrills aren’t available during Magical Christmas, whilst they undergo their essential annual maintenance, it has still got a brilliant little line-up of rides and attractions to give you a great day out with some roller coasters and rides in the winter!
On top of the Grotto Experience, show, rides and attractions available, the resort is also beautifully decorated for the festive season, with Christmas trees, lights, and even a touch of festive snow in Thomas Land. There is also live entertainment on throughout the day from characters such as Rusty, Dusty and the Fat Controller, alongside much loved mascots Rory the Lion, Rosie the Reindeer, and of course, the end of day singalong show!
We really appreciated being offered the opportunity to come and experience Drayton Manor’s Magical Christmas event and had a thoroughly good time exploring the festive offering and getting back on some of the rides there! From the wonderful grotto, to the fantastic zoo and the fun and thrills of some of the rides at the resort, we fully recommend a visit to Magical Christmas, especially if you have children, and think it’s fantastic that parks are starting to look at extending their offering throughout more of the year!
