Thorpe Park Resort have today confirmed the full line-up for FRIGHT NIGHTS 2017, including the arrival of what has been described as a ‘Global horror phenomenon’ – AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Headlining 2017’s event are two new mazes based on the hit US television show, The Walking Dead. Indoor maze, The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare will see guests at the terrifying mercy of the notorious Negan as they encounter iconic scenes from the hit TV show as they choose their path to try and escape and survive. Outdoor maze, The Walking Dead: Sanctum, will see guests follow in the footsteps of other survivors on their journey to refuge as they try to navigate past the roaming walkers or risk being captured.

To promote the arrival of The Walking Dead to the Island, Thorpe Park Resort unveiled a gory billboard in London featuring zombies feasting on blood and entrails, soaking unaware passing commuters in blood and guts. The zombies also took to the street with sandwich boards and golf sale signs causing quite a stir in East London.

The launch of the new The Walking Dead attractions at Thorpe Park Resort will coincide with the premiere of season 8 of the hit show on 23rd October, a season which will also include the show’s landmark 100th episode. Speaking about the new additions, Dominic Jones, Divisional Director at Thorpe Park Resort said:

“Fright Nights is THORPE PARK Resort’s biggest event of the year, and we’re hugely excited to bring the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead to our visitors. Each of the two specially built mazes are absolutely terrifying and are definitely not for the faint hearted.”

Alongside the arrival of the new mazes, FRIGHT NIGHTS 2017 will also see the return of a number of attractions from last year’s event. Guests will once again be invited to journey along the abandoned railroad in search of the Sleeper Express, a locomotive which disappeared with all its passengers still on board, as the next chapter unfolds in PLATFORM 15. Following a successful second season THE BIG TOP returns once more, with the Figaro Bros. set to unleash their unique brand of chaos once more in their twisted carnival. Long standing maze SAW Alive will also be making a return as Jigsaw plays more of his twisted games. Finally, escape room experience CONTAINMENT will also be returning once more, however exact details of what this year’s puzzles will be are yet to be revealed.

In a move which will disappoint those looking for a more intense experience, the Island’s signature VIP experience, Face it Alone, has been confirmed to not be returning for 2017. It has also been confirmed that the Resort will not be offering any behind the scenes tours.

This year, Fright Nights will run for more dates than ever before with the event running between 29th September-1st October; 6th – 8th October; 13th – 16th October; and 20th – 31st October. The Resort will be open from 10am-10pm, with Fright Nights attractions opening at 3pm on most days, and from 12 noon during the peak half term week.
