FRIGHT NIGHTS has returned to Thorpe Park for 2025, unleashing frights and horrors across the park. The majority of the attraction line-up remains the same as last year, however, there has been the addition of a new scare zone, Purgatory Town, and some of the existing attractions have seen new scenes and updates for 2025. In total, there are four up-charge scare mazes at the event this year, along with four scare zones and a 4D experience. Attraction Source was kindly invited by Thorpe Park to attend the VIP Launch Event on Thursday 2nd October 2025 to experience everything on offer.
Kicking off our evening with Survival Games, this up-charge scare maze has received the most changes for 2025. Over the past three years, guests have been separated into cages at the start of the experience, and with the attraction being multi route, this often forced guests to brave elements of the attraction alone. However, for the attraction’s fourth season, this is no longer the case. The entire maze is one singular linear route where guests are now unlikely to be separated, the amount of touching that the actors are allowed to do has also been reduced. This change and new layout design has allowed for an updated and evolved storyline and guests now see all the scenes within the attraction without having to go through the attraction multiple times. There are new characters within the attraction including those who have taken Sirex, a new drug which allows contestants to mutate and exhibit major hostility within the games.
The other up-charge scare maze with new scenes for 2025 is Trailers. The attraction has become a staple FRIGHT NIGHTS maze, taking guests inside SuperSpark Cinema where the different films on show come alive. Inside the attraction, the entire maze is extremely well themed and is one of the most immersive mazes within FRIGHT NIGHTS history, paying tribute to past Thorpe Park scare attractions. Similar to the introduction of the Platform 15 and Creek Freak Massacre based scenes in 2024, Knock Knock and Breakout at Brainsbury’s have been replaced with The Hollow Veil and X24 for 2025. These were welcome additions to the maze that keeps it fresh for its fifth season at FRIGHT NIGHTS.
Stitches has returned for its third season without any notable changes. Daring guests are invited to step into the disturbing realm of Howell’s Toy Emporium. Each scene features different creepy and unsettling toys while still being high energy and gory at the same time. This maze still truly encompasses everything which FRIGHT NIGHTS is all about into one great attraction.
DeadBeat, the new scare maze for 2024, has returned for its second season. Similar to Stitches, this attraction has not seen any major changes. The maze is based on a club scene which is full of soul sucking Viscerals which lure you into their dimension through the hypnosis of their music. The set design inverts in the centre of the maze when guests have stepped through into another world which mirrors our own.
New for 2025 is Purgatory Town, a new scare zone which calls all lost souls to Big Easy Boulevard in the heart of Thorpe Park. Here, the condemned wander the streets, praying for their souls to cross over. This scare zone is extremely interactive and makes this area of the park feel alive for Fright Nights. Sadly, the zone lacked theming, set pieces and actor quantity, and so feels like a late addition to provide the event with a new attraction for 2025.
The Crows of Mawkin Meadow has also returned for its fifth season. The layout for this free to enter attraction has been altered each year and 2025 is no different. The scare zone feels longer than previous years and there are also some new scenes and characters towards the end of the attraction which further flesh out the attraction’s story. The introduction of new large set pieces is always welcome, and it is great that everyone now experiences the barn scene as the finale of the attraction.
Creature Campus has returned to Amity Speedway with a brand new show called Shock to the System. Medusa and her gorgons take on The Franks after defeating the witches in last year’s show. It was interesting to see how The Franks were created by Medusa herself instead of being another rival school. The implementation of a raised stage is a welcome addition to the area and provides spectators further away from the front with an improved view of the show. The production quality, dancing and set within this dance show has stepped up again since last year and is a strong part of the Fright Nights lineup.
Lucifers Lair has returned in a similar fashion to last year. The area contains live roaming scare actors and nail-biting entertainment, including a dance show, live band, and fire display. Unfortunately, the placement of the stage has not been moved meaning this pathway becomes really crowded and a large bottle neck in the park on busier days.
Overall, FRIGHT NIGHTS 2025 remains a strong all-round event and has built upon last year’s event. The addition of Purgatory Town, returning scare zones, shows and IT 4D provide a great free offering at the park that enhance the overall atmosphere of the event. Nonetheless, with the lack of a new maze for this season and some attractions now returning for their fifth season, we would love to see FRIGHT NIGHTS evolve with some more new attractions for next year.
