Colossus at Thorpe Park has recently experienced lengthy periods of downtime
We believe that there must have been an incident involving clearance. Temporary looking metal plates have been added to the sides of the trains to stop guests extending their legs out.
The plates do not affect the ride experience, however make it awkward to step over when boarding the train.
It is rumoured that the trains may receive new, more limiting restraints in the closed season as the metal plates do not look like a permanent addition.
Other than this downtime, Colossus has had a great season, attracting wide acclaim and a new space in the record books.
