Initial work started on the site in 2025 with heras fencing installed around the land acquired, which includes the Core Zone (south of Manor Road which runs horizontally through the middle) and the Lake Zone north of Manor Road. From this point, advanced enabling works started to take place, including extensive archaeological surveys to ensure nothing of historical interest was found in the construction zone. The majority of the work ahead will take place in the Core Zone, so the former brickworks ruins in the Lake Zone was flattened to create what appears to be a site compound.

Manor Road will be completely realigned, and to do so, the residential housing on the road was acquired and is set to be demolished. Many of the houses are now vacant, with just some residents remaining. Hedging was recently removed in two areas to allow construction traffic access to both the Core and Lake Zones, with signage added which was the first physical mention of the new Universal attraction along the road.
