Following the opening of Valgard: Realm of the Vikings in 2026, Paultons Park’s newest area is set to expand further in 2027 with the opening of Serpent’s Curse, a custom-built MACK Rides Water Coaster. Seal Falls, the park’s existing junior mini log flume water ride, will also be re-themed as Little Serpents and relocated to the Valgard extension.

Vertical construction of Serpent’s Curse has now commenced, with the ride being put together by RCS, a very experienced ride construction and relocation company based in Germany. Firstly, smaller supports were installed around the layout, before the station transfer track and lift hill started to rise. The water coaster dominates the background of Valgard, and these photos show the lift hill actively being constructed from different angles. The track for the top of the lift hill is being staged underneath the new structure, which will no doubt be lifted into place in the coming days, followed by the rest of the layout.

By the time that Serpent’s Curse was officially announced as the new for 2027 MACK Rides Water Coaster, the ride’s yellow track and other hardware had already begun to be delivered to Paultons Park. With the majority of concrete footers for the main ride layout completed, it seems like it won’t be long until construction goes vertical, upon delivery of the supports. Progress was also being made on the foundations for other structures around the site.

Following the closure of the Go Karts, work commenced on what was understood to be the 2027 attraction (announced as Serpent’s Curse in one year’s time), with the location of the ride’s footers beginning to be marked out. Notably there had already been a delivery of what appeared to be MACK Rides footer pins to the site, fuelling speculation over the manufacturer and type of ride.
