Following a public consultation in September 2024 on emerging proposals to redevelop part of Mexicana and the Children’s Zoo, Chessington World of Adventures submitted a planning application in December 2024 for Project Play, a new immersive land catering to pre-school children. The proposals for the area incorporated a rollercoaster and three children’s flat rides, along with a central play area, a new facilities and retail building, and kiosks. Following the application’s approval in February 2025, Chessington announced that the new area would be themed to PAW Patrol in April 2025, with full details of the area being released in February 2026.
