April 12th, 2021 was not only the first day that theme parks in the UK were permitted to open following the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was also the launch of Tornado Springs, the highly anticipated new themed area at Paultons Park.

Originally planned to open in 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic and construction industry delays, Tornado Springs was the biggest ever investment by Paultons Park at the time. In 2022, the area was expanded with the addition of Farmyard Flyer.

Construction was well underway by the time summer arrived with many of the footers and foundations for Storm Chaser, the Mack Rides Spinning Coaster, already complete. The framework for the barn-like station structure had been erected, and the buildings surrounding the new area were in the process of being themed to fit in, including the former Wave Runner water slide attraction which would be renamed to Buffalo Falls.
