Welcome to SuperSpark Cinema, a 90’s themed cinema where power surges bring horror films to life. Guests are transported through seven different ‘trailers’ which are rooms based on the past mazes of Fright Nights at Thorpe Park. The attraction originally opened in 2021 as the new attraction for the 20 Years of Fear, the birthday celebration of the event. This building was chosen for the new maze due to its rich Fright Nights history with previous mazes such as The Freezer, Asylum and Studio 13 being in this location.

Entrance and Box Office

Guests first enter the Box Office for the cinema. In the first four seasons of the attraction this was the location of an actor lead preshow however, for 2025 this space is now used for the safety briefing to separate that audio announcement from the rest of the queue. The cobwebs and mouldy popcorn are to show the age of the cinema as you are visiting in the modern day. There is a cabinet on the wall with many different awards and easter eggs including one for our events at the park!

Screen 20

On the way to Screen 20, guests head down the staff corridor which features photos from the original attraction promotion and the names of the people who worked on the project. To further utilize the space of Screen 20, this room is now used as a digital preshow from the Director as he invites you to step into the films. Guests stand in the preshow, the chairs are theming and are not used within the attraction.

Beyond the Chair

This first ‘Trailer’ plays on the fear of Dentists while being influenced by past mazes such as Saw Alive, Containment, The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare, The Asylum and Experiment 10. The Directory on the wall and the chainsaw cutout are both a nod back to The Asylum. Many of the props used in this room have come from other mazes such as the dentist chair moving over from Containment.

Bozo’s Playzone

Moving from a dark and aggressive room into something a lot more light, colourful and energetic. The clowns have returned to Thorpe Park as a nod back to The Big Top. This room has a full enclosed ceiling to prevent noise bleed from the Big Top soundtrack into other rooms. The room starts will the Manifesto’s tent from the Big Top pre-show. For 2024, some updates were done to the next part of the room as the bright colours were faded and given an aged look. The following room also got changed from a bright colour scheme to a monochromatic as it now also pays tribute to the more gory and eerie nature of the clown in Fearstival. The screen number links to 2015 which was the opening year of the Big Top.

Creak Freaks

After the demolishment of sawmill for Hyperia, the Buckwheats have found a new home within Trailers. Prior to 2024, this room was known as Hell Cell and was in reference to Hellgate. The 12 as the screen number is a reference to the Passing which was the attraction which was placed in the same location as Hellgate. The majority of the added props have been moved over from the former sawmill, in the room the music played is from what was the blade room in Creek Freak Massacre.

Eight Dolls

Voted the scariest room in trailers, this room features manaquine dolls along both sides of the room, an actor can be in one of the empty slots to then come to life and scare guests. This room has references to Se7en and Fearstival, the screen number  also references the opening year of Se7en.

The Hollow Veil

The room to have featured the most different trailers is now the Hollow Veil. This room has the military inspiration from the preshow and start of Roots of Evil and has paired this was a cannibal character which was inspired by The Walking Dead Sanctum and Do or Die. When the attraction first opened, this room was known as Vulcan Voodoo which was in reference to Vulcan Peak which was housed in this space for 2018, hence the screen number reference. In 2024, this room was updated to Knock Knock and featured theming and characters from Deaths Doors.

The Sleeper Express

The Sleeper Express is inspired by Platform 15 which was at the Fright Nights from 2016 until 2021. Originally being two rooms known as Ship Happens and Nightmare on Staines Street which were inspired by The Curse (2008 – 2012) and the Night Terrors which were a roaming team in 2014 respectively. The first of the two Platform 15 inspired sections is based on the train which burst into flames and the tar in their lungs created the sleeper creatures. The second section is based on the village scene from platform and is within a bedroom, the dolls are from the former attraction. The bed scare allows an actor to come out from the middle of the bed.

X24

New for 2025, X24 is based on Experiment 10 which was added for the 10th year of Fright Nights. In the name, X was used instead of Experiment and this year is 24th year of Fright Nights. Experiment 10 was the first attraction at Thorpe to use separation chambers and a linear route without requiring hands on shoulders. The white walls and patient character used to add a different bright and unique colour to the attraction. This room was originally Breakout at Brainsbury’s, an isolated zombie outbreak within a supermarket, it was inspired by the Walking Dead attractions which entered Fright Nights in 2017, hence screen 17.

Screen 21 and Lobby

Guests then exit back through the cinema screen out of the portal now into screen 21 and then head through the cinema lobby.

Projection Room

The finale of the attraction is the projection room where the characters have escaped from their ‘Trailers’ into the rest of the cinema. There is a rotation of different characters which can be seen in this room. There is a show button which triggers a spark effect within this room. The exit to the maze includes a strobe light and air cannons.
