That does sound rather strange for old sound effects making a comeback?
Perhaps they were left in becaues it does not fit in with the duel theme but never used?

Sounds like improvements are being made around the park. First the new signs and general improvements in Charlie and now this! Keep up the good work Alton now do this for the rest of the park. More theming on every ride would be appreciated. And new signage.
It sounds strange the hole "Spiders" thing. Seems like a sound effect was left in.

I suppose they got all the old sound effects in the sound system.
Talking about sound effects :

It's great just hear the Jellyfish monsters again, also does anyone know why Skeleton Bob is called Skeleton Bob ?

He actually isn't called "Skeleton Bob" at all.
His proper name is "Electric Bill"

I've never heard that SE. I'd be interested to though!
Once I was on the HH, and it gets to the bit with the guy grinding the crank with the souls going up the tube. With the HH bein notorious for stopping, I said to my dad, if it stopped here i'd be ok because there's a fair amount of light.
And it did. It stopped.
I reckon someone was listening to me!

If you like paintballing PM me and I\'ll give you the details of a competition to come free on the 22nd July.
The HH was much better than Duel. Those LED's spoil everything, particulalry as most are on the walls. One of the zombies near the end doesn't even have any on! What's the point in shooting at the walls though?

can we start a petition requesting that they change it back to the Haunted House, maybe with some up to date effects. the zombie thing is fun, but not scary. im only scared of zombies in large numbers, when they are running, snarling and ripping at my flesh. so, come on everyone, lets make alton towers sort it out!!!
can i please get a Huzzah!

Zombies ripping at your flesh in large numbers?
I don't know which ride you've been on mate, but it cannot be Duel. If you're "unlucky" the zombie may stand there completely still and flash a red light at you

My bad mate, sorry
This shows what happens when you skim read posts. Getting back on topic however, I loved the HH when it was in its heyday, and whilst well themed and interesting at first, it lost it's reride factor after about 3 rides which was a problem for the park. Whilst Duel has it's issues, i'm glad at least it manages to stay fun no matter how much you ride it. I think a happy medium should be reached, the quality and atmosphere of the Haunted House, but the reride factor of Duel.
