Storm Chaser is a Mack Rides spinning roller coaster which opened as the stand out attraction of Tornado Springs at Paultons Park in 2021. The ride features a height of 64ft and a top speed of 37mph which makes it the perfect ride for the whole family to enjoy together.

Operator Booth

Take a look at the Mack Rides operator console which controls the main operation of Storm Chaser. The screen notifies the operator of the dispatch time, dispatches per hour, temperature, wind speed and the free running times of the trains on the left hand side. When a train is parked in the station, the operator can see which restraints are clear for dispatch.

Transfer Lift

Unlike most other roller coasters, Storm Chaser features a stacked storage maintenance shed due to the amount of space avalable for the station. This means that the maintenance bay is situated directly under the station platform. To move a train on or off the circuit, the lift must be raised in the station to change the station track piece to then lower back down. Storm Chaser can only hold one of the two trains in the maintenace bay at any given time.

Train

Take a close look at the trains for Storm Chaser at Paultons Park. The ride has two trains which are made up of 4 spinning cars with 4 riders per car making for 16 riders per train. For the trains to be able to spin freely, the ride has many different additional components which other rides may not have.

Maintenance Shed

Within the Storm Chaser maintenance area, there is lots of tools, parts and machinery which is used as part of the upkeep and strip backs of the ride. This includes several shipments from Mack Rides, hardware for the ride transfer lift and spare wheels.
