I thought I’d write a follow up post to explain why we have cut down the 2017 events calendar.

In 2013 we made a commitment that TTSP events would always feature the best industry exclusives, ERT’s, talks, behind the scenes tours and above all, bring enthusiasts together whilst having lots of fun.

We still do that. So why just three events and not five?

Let’s face it – Merlin have had a tough time over the last two seasons. Our reasoning is not solely because of the lack of new attractions and things to do at the parks, but it certainly plays a large part.

Gradually, we have covered everything that fans of the resorts are interested in. Without new investment, it has felt like we are running out of things to do. What we do not want is the event activities becoming repetitive, leading to a decline in attendance.

It has always been about quality and not quantity, and we are still committed on bringing you the best events possible. Considering the broader circumstances, we feel it is appropriate to reduce the offering for 2017.

Yesterday we had amazing news regarding an element of TTSP@15, which I firmly believe will be the best event yet. Summer Sizzler will be relocated to Thorpe Park and we’ll finish with the incredible ScareMazing back at Alton Towers to finish the season.

Park meetups are definitely encouraged to fill the gaps in the year. We are all optimistic and hopeful that Merlin will be back on form in 2018 and increase their offering – we know SW8 will help that for a start.

If you have any questions, then please do leave a message. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

Luckily TTSP@15 is before my exams! A day of revising can be forfeited for Towers right? :D

*Looks at date for Scaremazing. Looks at date for friend's next concert. Realises can't be in 2 places at once and sulks*
I'll try and make the others so long as exams and other stuff this year don't get in the way.

For the over 18yrs run throughs at Scaremazing, am I right in thinking there are other run throughs available for us under 18s who can't handle the pure intensity :P ?

The event plans have not been set yet, so there is no guarantee of extreme mazes however yes for the other ScareMazing events we have indeed had regular run through of the mazes included for under 18's :)

Been considering coming to an event for a while now, and I'd say TTSP@15 looks like the perfect opportunity! Really excited!
Life is a roller coaster. You can either scream every time you hit a bump or you can throw your hands up in the air and enjoy it.
