Saving money? Alton Towers? Gosh . Y'know I purchased an Alton Towers keyring the other week god knows how much it was - But I have noticed it still had the old tussauds emblem on alton's logo, and just as I sat there spinning it around it fell to bits

I saw the nemesis inferno mug being sold in the air shop the other day and it made me think of this thread, I think its scandalous really, I mean I don't mind them selling it that much, but the fact its nothing to do with the original Nemesis ride bugs me, there isn't enough Nemesis merchandise these days, looking in the souvenir shop I couldn't see much to do with Nemesis, loads of Oblivion, Air and Rita merchandise though
Nemesis used to have a shop.
Yes, right up until about 2001 i think, i can't remember it's exact location in FV bt it was pretty small. Also, dont forget that the building next to Ripsaw that is now a cafe was once a shop, and there was a fair bit of Nemesis merchandise in there

Didn't it used to be where the photo booth is now?
I really don't get the Bench/Quicksilver clothing. You can buy that anytime. When I'm at a theme park I'd prefer a memento of my day there - a shirt I can buy in my local high street is hardly a thrilling piece of merchandise.

I agree to a certain degree about the clothing however sometimes when I’m cold and wet and go into the shops to buy a new t-shirt or jacket it’s nice to be able to choose some clothes you could get off the high street. Plus not everyone would be happy with AT branded clothing and unless there was other name make clothing available probably wouldn’t buy any.
The obvious answer is that branded stuff simply wasn't selling enough to justify producing it. A shame really.
I have two Alton hoodys (Oblivion & Rita) 2 fleeces (Air & General) I also have one of the old staff orange & purpley blue heavy rain macs. (Soo nice and warm!)
I'd still buy more, but sadly there just isn't the choice.
The reason for this, is that the branded stuff is tacky and naff. The European parks sell branded staff that you wouldn't be ashamed to wear when out in the evening in a bar or somewhere. Branded goods have to appeal to the coaster fans and the general public too.
Nobody likes Naff.

Too much commercialisation at Alton now.
Not the theme park it once was.

I despise the Stealth t-shirts at thorpe, no logo just the four "faces" on one of the long sleeved arms...not good.
Gardaland had some fantastic t-shirts with their mascot on it. I was going to get one with my name Mattia on it (Italian name and is used here obviously :P) shame there biggest size was too small for me .
I remember the years when air used to have some gorgeous fleeces and jumpers with the logo on it...shame they aren't really that good any more.

I agree, the merchandise isn't what it use to be - but then I think times do change. I don't think we should return to themed items for individual rides but a more comprehensive, and quality collection of Alton Towers branded stuff is required.
With regards to clothing - I too would prefer to wear a Bench hoody over a Alton Towers one!! But, I do agree, the park isn't the right place for it. The hotels, maybe, because they have a sports type shop already so it would fit in and if they were to ever build a Disney Village type set up - then a few branded shops here would add something extra to the overall experience.

Disney merchandise is a completely different ball game!

I do agree about the lack of good merchandise at mainly Thorpe Park because you used to get things like Nemesis Inferno t-shirts (which I've got one of) and Colossus pens.
In contrast when I went to Port Aventura and Heide Park this year the range of souvenir merchandise was so much better and I had a hard time deciding what to buy!
Perhaps Merlin could bring back some good things??
