So then, Verbolten is unofficially open! The ride operated from 1.30pm til ride close at about 8.30pm yesterday with no technical problems at all and it is hoped that it will remain open for the majority of the weekend, with the official opening still being May 19th. The good thing about this soft opening is that we now have reviews and a POV albeit from a few rows back!
The general consensus is that this is a great addition to the park that fills the gap in the parks coaster line up perfectly. Some reviews of the ride can be seen in this article on BGWFans.com.
A POV can be seen here, it is also embedded into the above article.
A general video showing offride shots and queueline theming can be seen here.
The detail in the theming is very impressive indeed, reminds me of the theming quality at Europa. Definitely a step up for BGW which is fantastic.

Indoor bit looks lovely. Love the colours. Coaster outside looks, well... family I guess. Which is what it is meant to.

We'll probably get a better POV once the ride is fully open, there are a lot of park executives around the ride at the moment meaning getting a camera out is a challenge. Hopefully there will be mounted POVs filmed on the media day which I think is on the 17th. I doubt any POVs will give a good representation of the Black Forest though, dark coasters never show up well on POVs.

I hope TPR will do one with lights on.
Looks like a good ride, but it is hard to say from the POV.

From the couple of relatively bad on-ride videos available on Youtube of Verbolten, it still looks pretty damn good. I love the theming inside the dark section!
The drop looks too controlled.
A good effort though, and I do like the effects inside the building.
However, I think TH13TEEN just scrapes this for me, judging by that video.

The ride overall looks better than Th13teen, although I have to say that the layout (outside anyway) looks more family than I expected. Still, love the lights inside! Looks really zany and cool.Longy wrote: The drop looks too controlled.

For me it doesn't look track and train that amazing (unless the indoors is great) but the effects look really cool.

Wow, you're in the effect building for so long! What actually happens in there, apart from the drop? Anyone got a diagram?

I can't believe it has taken this long for a ride with multiple experiences to come about. I love the look of the luminous forest, I'm so glad they chose this interesting idea over more traditional themed environments:

Track and train outside the building was never going to be that amazing in my opinion, the plans showed that there wasn't much to it. In my opinion this is just a fantastic experience coaster with so many different elements to it. It has a solid story and concept behind it and it delivers almost perfectly to fill the family coaster gap in the parks line up. And like I said previously, I am very impressed with the detail of the theming in the station and queue, it's a real step up for Busch. It also seems to be going down well with the fans and the public which is great.
I want to ride this coaster so badly, mainly because POVs will never give a good representation of what inside the Black Forest is like!

It's interesting to see how well received this ride has been amongst TTF with the unapparent marketing it has in England, in comparison to a little coaster we know.
Nether the less, it seems like it fills the gap for Busch Gardens and a perfect mix of thrill and fun - love the 3 ride sequence idea too.
