That park looks absolutely magical! They look like they've never slipped once on the theming, never had a rough patch that blights so many well themed parks (Alton: 2002 - 2007).

One thing, according to the RCDB the Pegasus coaster closed 3 days ago. And it says "Operated" not "SBNO" which usually means it's already started being demolished or someones said it won't ever open again. According to this forum post it will be replaced with a GCI woodie.

:x Noooooo!

Thanks for digging that out STC. At least they seem pretty sure it's going to be replaced by another woodie (woody?) But I am very upset that I'll never ride Pegasus again. Sure it was tame, but to a cautious pre-teen such as I was, I was as nervous riding that for the first time as I was on my first time riding Oblivion aged 17! That was my first proper coaster. Wow. I feel now, like I imagine Corky's removal made many of you feel.

And by the way guys, some of these pictures don't do justice. The whole fairytale forest section is brilliant. Lot's of characters and the like. And a picture of 2 each doesn't even begin to do justice to the Carnival Festival, Fata Morgana or especially Dream Flight. Alton Towers should take notes on how to do animatronics. From Toyland Tours to that one pathetic waving Oompa Loompa at the end of Charlie. Shocking!

Its not that small, its 10 meters taller than Pegasus, so it should be a significant improvement. Its also quite a bit taller than the likes of Grand National, so there's definitely enough height for a really good ride, if they get the design right.

I'm quite excited about this ride, its been ages since I went to Efteling but its one of my favourite family parks and with another new coaster I'd be very tempted to make a trip out there.
Craig

Troy is only 6.5 metres taller so its not that much of an issue really. I don't think height is the wow factor with woodies, its the twist and turns and speed that matter more.

Very much looking forward to this, they're really upping their came at Efteling lately :).
AstroDan

I must have been underestimating 25m. Sounds like a good investment - but given Efteling's visitor figures I actually feel that the investment made in the park isn't that high considering. They really need some queue eaters by the sounds of it though as I hear queue's at the park can get massive.

I height isn't a main issue either for woodies. They work amazing when the main part of the track has the ground creating massive amounts of airtime.

Sound like a good project for Europe, hopefully we will see a new woodie over here in the UK.

25m is the exact height of Lightwater Wheel if that helps people put into perspective how tall the ride will actually be. :)

Well they have been tearing down Pegasus by the looks of things, I assume it is called Joris en de Draak (I have no idea what it means) looking at the first picture, perhaps add that to the topic title. Oh and pictures courtesy of Theme Park Review...

It certainly looks exciting, should be well themed as well knowing Efteling.

Nor have I, but I'm gonna guess it's equivalent to "George and the Dragon"? Would make make sense if it's a dueling track.... Knight fighting a Dragon.
