In terms of size, the site they've acquired is about 20% bigger than Drayton Manor although I'm guessing it'll have a camp site eating into that.
Could be a major park but I suspect it'll be like the other Gullivers parks in being a reasonable day out for youngish families but with budget rides and lacking the wider appeal that family focused parks like Chessington and Disney manage.

I live about 10/15 mins away! Would have been better if my local wasn't a kids park but oh well. I'm hoping to get a job at the theme park once I leave college!

Thought I'd give this topic some attention!
The site for Gullivers Valley was originally 330 acres but it has now been reduced to 250 acres due to contaminated land.

You can read more on this here. The Star wrote:The report said examinations of the site, which was previously an opencast colliery, had identified ‘potential ground contamination’ – resulting in Gulliver’s submitting a revised proposal to buy a reduced area of the site.

So according to RCDB in 2020 there is going to be a new Gulliver's theme park called Gulliver's Valley Resort and their opening coaster is going to be a woodie. Possibly a copy of the coaster at Gulliver's Warrington

Yeah, it's gonna have a fair few coasters upon opening. I saw some basic plans the other month as they had a stall at the Rotherham show. It looks like it is going to be a very nice park, I think bigger than the other Gullivers out there, and this will also have a centre parcs-esque feel to it with some lodges style (I think) accommodation and high ropes course and other activities .etc but this will be built after the theme park.
Hopefully I can get a job there in maintenance once I finish my apprenticeship!

So when is this theme park meant to start construction or is it already in construction?
Not heard anything about it

Think it's meant to be done for either 2020/2021. I think groundwork has begun but not sure on anything else. They're keeping quiet but it is definitely going ahead.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting big vibes from American Adventure in 2 of those pictures.. might just be me.
It's great to finally see something of it, will be good to see the park next year!

After a lovely bike ride around Rother Valley Country Park earlier today, I decided to take a turn down a small road which brought me out behind the perimeter fence at what I believe is the rear end of the park!
Sign along the small road to notify delivery drivers this is not the entrance! :lol
There is a rapids attraction, similar in style to storm surge at Thorpe Park
There were still a few trough pieces left to install
I'm assuming this will be the wild west themed area of the park
Gulliver's are improving the paths around the site
Over the hill I noticed what seems to be a Zamperla Rockin Tug! Hope they theme it up before installing though :(
I then drove down to the actual entrance of the site, where a small hut has been built in typical Gullivers castle style.
The road which I cannot wait to drive down on opening day next year!
I'm hoping to pop down every couple of months or so to see how it progresses!

The Star has published an article showing drone footage of the new park! It’s looking rather nice and more work has been done than i was expecting!
