Ok although Kingda Ka is taller faster and has a airtime at the end. I wreckon TTD is better. Simply because the lack of restraints!. There is hardly a height difference or speed so it doesn't realy matter

Kingda Ka doesn't have airtime at the end. Just like on Stealth, the brake fins start at the crest of the "second" hill. So, there's no airtime at all. Plus, the launch is not constant, its a pulsed launched which sorta sucks. Its also EXTREMELY rough. There's really no comparison to Top Thrill Dragster. TTD blows KK away in every category.

I'm still a HUGE fan of Rita though. The launch is quick and there's more to the ride than just a top hat. Even though their durations are similar, Rita offers a ride that's more fun. TTD offers a ride that's more thrilling.

Hmm, Rita has resulted very well in the general launch coaster hierarchy I think, for what it is... probably because it sticks to basics and has nothing like a pulsating launch 'current' if you will.

I think PortAventuras launcher will become on of the best in the world. It looks to be an upgrade of Rita and launch coasters without top-hats seem to work even better than with them.

Don't forget about Maverick!! :) I have a feeling the mid-course launch in a tunnel is going to be wicked. Not to mention all of its turns, inversions and bunny hills. Keep in mind, Maverick's mid-course launch is faster than Rita's only launch. :)

Yeah I believe we both called it a "launch" coaster, not an accelerator.

If you want to see the control panel for Maverick, just look here: http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/ ... mvt131.jpg

I did a quick search of the forum and found nothing for it :)

Zumanjaro is the worlds tallest drop tower that is built on Kingda Ka that should be opening soon. I don't really know what else to say, so I'll just leave this video :P

Doesn't half look awesome! :D

The park have announced on Twitter that the preview pass holder event will be held on July 3rd, and the official opening the next day, July 4th!

Exciting times :)

Unfortunately the opening dates and media night has been cancelled. Intamin have signed off the ride and handed it to Six Flags for staff training etc; but can't get H&S in to the park to sign off the ride and open it to the public.

Although on the 10th of July they are holding a competition for people with the tallest Mohawk. The 8 people with the tallest Mohawk will be escorted to the front of the queue, and potentially be the first riders. Whether this has. I been cancelled is unknown.
