Well that depends. We don't yet know it was anything to do with the system running the ride. In fact it is highly likely that human intervention was the main cause. If that is the case/confirmed then people would have every right to be concerned over safety as the problem would be much wider than one ride.leammiles wrote: Me personally, I'd jump on it tomorrow if they reopened it, but the general public who don't know about the systems might need convincing.
I assume this is why other multi-train coasters in the group are closed; to address an underlying loophole in safety procedures. We will have to await the outcome of the HSE investigation though of course.
I'm pretty sure the Smiler will remain closed for at least the rest of the season, and I imagine it will be relaunched in 2016 with either a re-theme or some major modification that will instil confidence in GP again.
