Sure it wont be that bad folks, end of the day if your overweight for a ride, then thats a sure sign to do something about it!

No, but it'd completely warp peoples perceptions of whats safe and not. Think how many people get worried about B&M large restraints having 2 seatbelts instead of the ordinary one.Chris wrote: Couldn't they have just had a few rows of the train with seatbelts for now (before then being replaced with big boy seats)? It wouldn't have affected throughput too much.
It may have already been asked and answered but why didn't Europa sort this issue as they are building? I mean GCI is an American company and they know all to well about the need for seating larger guests on their rides. I find it quite odd that they won't be opening with the ability to accommodate larger guests.AstroDan wrote: Europa know there will be complaints and problems at first.
However, they are working to sort the problems out.
I have absoluetly no idea. I presume that GCI are unable to offer any sort of compromise on seating, given that it is the TUV H&S executive in Germany who are insistent on the restraints on the ride.Spike wrote:It may have already been asked and answered but why didn't Europa sort this issue as they are building? Having ridden Colossus & Troy are their coasters equipped with seating for larger guests?AstroDan wrote: I have absoluetly no idea. I have no idea what the situation is with El Toro, the only other German GCI is. However, this ride will be far more aggressive than that anyway.
There are no Big Boy seats on either Colossos or Troy. However, Colossos is Intamin. Troy, although GCI is also in the Netherlands with a different H&S executive.Spike wrote:Having ridden Colossus & Troy are their coasters equipped with seating for larger guests?AstroDan wrote: I have absoluetly no idea. Now why would HSE have an issue with a 100ft Woody having big boy seats when they obviously allowed Silvia & Blufie. Blufie inverts with a lap bar as wellAstroDan wrote: Come to think of it, the only German coasters I know with Big Boy seating are Silver Star (row 5) and Blue Fire (row 10).
I don't think they do have a problem with the ride having Big Boy Seats. I just reckon it's going to take GCI a little longer to sort out Big Boy seats for the ride, presumably because when EP said they'd be needed it was too late.Spike wrote:Now why would HSE have an issue with a 100ft Woody having big boy seats when they obviously allowed Silvia & Blufie. I wasn't suggesting any of that. I was merely pointing out that German HSE didn't raise any concerns over the other two lap barred coasters allowing big boy seats. The inverting side of things I would assume would make them more nervous.Sam wrote: Looping coasters having lapbars is a totally different issue to this. There is absolutely nothing that makes looping coaster inherently safer with OTSRs, though many classic Schwarzkopfs have been decimated to this effect due to nervous park management. Mack should be commended for really reversing the tide back towards lapbars on loopers!
