No more Far West area!? I loved that area... what was wrong with it? OK, maybe it was a bit disjointed in terms of where the Log Flume was to where Colorado Adventure was but still...
I hope Colorado Adventure doesn't get ruined!
Phantasialand
Official Promo Teaser
On that basis, this will either be a complete hoot or an utter travesty.
Hopefully, the former - in a park which usually adds excellent attractions!

Maybe I'm a bit behind, but has this been confirmed as a shooting dark ride? Just get that impression from that video.
For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. There is no happy ending to this story. Welcome to the unknown. Welcome to eternal darkness.

The waveswinger and mini-drop towers are now open!
Wave swinger video.
Fastforward to the main ride sequence, that fountain effect is one of the coolest I've ever seen.
And err, mini gyro drop towers video!

The towers do fit in very nicely next to Colorado Adventure. Didn't ride them when we were there Monday, however. The Wave Swinger was pretty cool...standard swing ride, however the water made it what it is and it's pretty cool that the water follows the rotation.
Was disappointed that Maus was not open yet and the Kaiserplatz was still under major construction (the building/seating around the platz) and caused a large detour to go from Talocan entrance/exit up to Africa which was annoying. Other than that was a great day on park with a wait of no longer than 5 minutes for all attractions.
And the news everyone really cared about: Temple of the Nighthawk's laser bird was missing...was a quiet, dark ride of Vekoma goodness! :X

This ride is now open for soft openings. It is not fully complete, and is only open at certain times.

Do we have any reviews yet? Any photos? Could any German speakers keep an eye out on the German boards reviews please?
It sounds excellent, and having just viewed a translated mini review of the ride - this could be Europe's best interactive dark ride. It seems to be along the lines of Toy Story Midway Mania, which can be found at a couple of Disney parks worldwide - including Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando.
There are some images - as you would expect the queue and ride theming looks superb, but Phantasialand would do no other - here:

What in god's name is Casa Magnetica? Google Images seems to only deepen the mystery. A removal early in 2012 points to a new major coaster opening in 2013.Screamscape wrote:Park News - (8/31/11) Screamscape sources tell us that starting sometime in early 2012, Phantasialand is planning on removing the “western city” area, including Casa Magnetica and Little Joe’s restaurant in order to put in a new themed area with new attractions. The Silverado Theater (Stunt Show) will also be demolished from what I’m told. No word on what may be on the way in 2013 to justify all this demolition.

I like the Western Area...
Although attractions wise it is pretty weak. Hmm. Removing Silber Mine hopefully!

Again, what actually is Casa Magnetica? Bye bye Phannyland's log flume!Screamscape wrote:2013 - Western City Replacement - In Progress - (11/28/11) It has been reported that Casa Magnetica at Phantasialand has been completely torn down, and the nearby log flume has also been walled off and the wreckers have started demolition work in there as well. You can see some of the demolition pictures posted over at Freizeitparkweb.de. Given the scale here, it appears that the park has something very large in mind to go in to replace the western section of the park which most likely wont be ready until 2013.
They have two flumes, which look like they should be racing... but don't. (just like Winjas :P ) Shame to see them go, I'll never forget the moment when our fatboat grounded and stalled!!
Sounds like something big is coming!

Are they removing both the flumes or just one? Maybe they'll get replaced by a water coaster, an Aquatrax or a Poseidon.
