Phantasialand have confirmed on Facebook that there will indeed be a second coaster in the new area of Klugheim called 'Raik', in the form of, what they appear to be claiming will be, the biggest Vekoma Family Boomerang in the world.

In a recent article, Phantasialand have revealed a few more key details about Taron; it will be the Multi-Launch-Coaster with the most intense LSM-Launch worldwide, will be able to run at temperatures above -10°C and will feature a completely new "Phantasialand" train with new sitting position and restraint system.

As usual there are also some photos, as well as a video montage of them.













Phantasialand have also made another Magazin post which seems to hint at the reveal of Taron's trains on Friday. In today's image, what look like wheels are visible.

Now is the time to discover new things and delve into the world of Taron.

From today to Friday we reveal here a bit more every day.

The next section of the image has been revealed on Phantasialand's Facebook. If you look closely at the seats that are shown it would seem to suggest that the coaster will have lap-bar restraints as there does not appear to be any shoulder restraints shown. The full image is set to be revealed tomorrow.

The trains have a very bulky, yet sleek design. This is a new type of train for Intamin and it includes many enhancements specifically designed to create a much better experience, one of these being to allow the ride to operate at approximately -10 degrees Celsius. This means the ride will be operable during the winter season. As well as this, Phatasialand really wanted Taron to have a "free" experience, for example, the seats themselves have also been altered, they are now further apart and allow for each passenger to have much more room. Also, the seats have been raised to the point where riders feet will not touch the floor, creating in effect a floorless train. On top of this as shown there is also the use of lap restraints as opposed to over the shoulder restraints. Finally, the total weight of Taron's train has been reduced by almost a tonne in order to achieve a much more forceful launch. The whole design of this train took approximately two years from paper to reality.

I absolutely love the train, the wheel guards as ram's hooves. This is going to be an intense coaster, literally cannot wait until footage of it zipping through the track layout appears online.

One of the regular members over on Phantafriends.de (the German equivalent of TTSP for Phantasialand) has created a very interesting off ride simulation of Taron based on the construction and information we have so far. The video shows how the ride would interact with the various theming elements and also just how close guests will be able to get to the ride.

I have to say, if the finished coaster is anywhere near what this video suggests it is going to be incredible. I can't wait to find out when this will be opening

I agree, if the real thing is anything like that video then it really will be stunning to admire whether you're riding, queueing or just in the area! The theming and how it interacts with it is incredible and this is definitely on my list to do over the next few years

PhantasiaLand have posted the latest installment of their magazine today offering glimpses at some of the theming in Klug Home which will be home to Taron. Klugheim will feature several dragon features, with each dragon head being carved from a metre long piece of Douglas Fir. The choice of the dragon reflects how how it is a symbol enshrined in many different cultures as both a mystical figure, a symbol of power and strength, and a symbol of power and cunning. In some cultures having a dragon figurehead on a rooftop meant the dragon was watching over and protecting them.

In the article the park describes the vision for the theming in Klug Home (translated from German):

So also in Klug home. Here draw the dragon heads on the rooftops of wooden houses a symbolic border Taron, who rushes on his endless rail maze with thunder through the skies. The power and the aura of the Multi-Launch Coasters will be felt in the village and down - like the attentive gaze of the dragon on the roofs.

The Project Manager for Phantasialand's theming explains in the article how, when she prepares a new area, she immerses herself in the culture which provides the inspiration for it - even now she is in contact with the Cameroonian village which inspired Hotel Matamba.





It is incredible just how much detail is going into this entire project - it is the touches like these which will really make a difference to the overall impression of the area. I can't wait to see it in person!

PhantasiaLand have released another installment of their magazine, this time detailing the extraordinary amount of precision they have used during the installation of Taron's track.

To ensure the smoothest possible ride, the park has employed a specialist surveyor to work with them whilst Taron's track was being put into place to ensure that every piece was placed in the perfect position - if the placing differed by even 0.2 milimetres it would have an unpleasant impact on the ride experience. It has been an especially difficult task with some of Taron's supports holding 4 separate parks of the track due to how the coaster crosses over itself.

Rather interestingly, the article also state that this type of surveying is something that not many places undertake due to the amount of time it takes. It just goes to show the sheer level of detail and attention the park is giving to this project. I really hope that this is open when I visit in June as I genuinely think this could be a world class coaster.

Phantasialand have revealed the logo for the second coaster to be a part of Klugheim, Raik, in a post on their Facebook Page



Like Taron, the logo has an almost medieval Nordic feel which fits in nicely with the overall area.

They have also announced that it is set to be the largest family boomerang coaster in the world!
