Robbery and stabbing at AT hotel

Last night there was a stabbing and robbery in the hotel , my dad works there and he wasnt aloud to leave until about 12:30,
Ambulance and police were there all night,
Wondering if anyone knows anything,

According to the article there was a charity ball raising money for Cancer Research UK in one of the conference rooms.
I'd imagine that someone got wind that there would be some fairly well off people there and decided to do something stupid.
Whatever the reason I hope the offender is caught and that the victim makes a full recovery

He is safely in jail for 4 yrs 8 mths

That's what I said but I suppose he may have had an sobbing story because "he treated the staff horribly"

How can being mean to your staff warrant such a thing? I hardly see that as a 'sob story' of any sort. He could've taken up an actual and official grievance rather than doing what he done.
