Blaudy hell - Just the paint and have new trains plus abit of a re-brand! Surely it would be better for the park to add a new coaster for that price tag.

But its not just 'normal' trains for an X car the technology that goes into them is astonishing.

Just found some pictures of the new X2 car (Without themeing) over at RCPro taken from their visit to the IAAPA if anyone's interested New Design (Clicky)

Here's some pictures of the old style for comparison.

There's no major differences, just new designs here and there such as it's attachments to the track, the new restraint setup and the back and headrests. It'll be interesting to see the difference they make to the ride experience.

Don't think there's anyway of being sure right now, as it's only on show modelling the new style of train. However it could well be the new colour scheme, which I hope it is as they're a good mix.

We'll have to wait until the trains arrive or the repaint begins before we can be sure.

Yup.

From what I'm aware these trains are very similar to the ones already in use on Eejanaika.
I totally forgot about that bit

It'd be nice to hear from someone who has ridden both and can comment on the difference in feel of both trains. Fat chance of finding someone mind.

Anyone been? As im just wondering as im going when I go on holiday in 6 days! Ive read mixed reviews but most say how good the rides are eventhough its poorly themed and what ever.

From what i've read, its like the thorpe of america!

But i do admit the rides do look amazing.. Tatsu and X2 being the main ones that i'd like to try!

You'll have to let us know how it goes and please bring back piccies!

To be honest though, if you go to any park in america, theres only a few which are themed well... which Disney and Universal parks... just because they specialise in it. So i wouldnt get your hopes up for it theming... but in terms of rides thats different.

My wife has done Magic Mountain just before Superman was opened to the public and had a really great time.

It is a park she wants to go back to and I definately want to go to myself.

If you want themeing then knotts, disney and Universal are all pretty close to Magic Mountain.

Really it looks like my idea of hell on earth, very lame theaming with the rides pretty badly run from what I hear. At least its got some impressive rides to make up for it a little bit.

Does sound like Thorpe of the USA, although Superman ride is always on Sky Threes Ultimate rides programs and it does look awesome!

I went to Cali last year. Unfortunately due to a blip I didn't get to go to Magic Mountain. The rides do sound amazing, even if poorly themed, it's definitely worth going.

I don't really hear reviews that bad about the rides. They have some not so fantastic coasters, like Superman :P But they also have the likes of Tatsu, X2, Riddler's Revenge and of course, Batman.

(Some of the rides there do suffer from down-time though.)

Pretty much the only negatives I hear about this park is it's atmosphere. Being probably the most anti-family park around due to lack of rides for children it can attract a rather bad crowd of youths on a regular basis. In a review I read somewhere they stated how the paths were covered in litter and the lack of security meant there was a lot of graffiti and some damaged areas.

Since I didn't actually go, all of the above is what I've heard or read, but seems to be pretty consistent.

As for Knott's Berry farm, I did get to go there and I must say that it is amazing. The whole park is crammed into "1 block" but still manages to have 3 fantastic roller coasters, a selection of good flat rides and a nice environment. If you get the chance, definitely go here.

Magic Mountain is a great park, it's mainly about the thrills than anything else. When I went the local area was alive with forest fires it was that hot, so aim for a cooler day because it really does ruin your appetite for rides.
X2 will have a HUGE Q so avoid if so as it's really not that special.

It really isn't as bad as what people say. It isn't this Ghetto theme park people make it out to be (though I did visit on a relatively quiet day... and swear I could smell Weed around the now gone Psyclone (though that was true for many areas around Anaheim too

)). In any case the place is on the uphill now it seems.

But yeah, it isn't a place you go for theming... it's all about the rides, which are absolutely ace! Totally worth a day there. Just get X2 (which is worth the wait - it's mental) over and done with first as you'll find the rest of the queues (bar Deja Vu, which you should miss or single rider as I did) are much, much smaller.

I would rate Knott's higher as it's much more of a pleasant, chilled out park with one or two gems so if you can, fit that in as well!

I went a couple of years back, i'm just going to echo everything others have said really, no theming at all, staffing is pretty poor, but some of the rides are just amazing. I rode Tatsu at nearly midnight and it was amazing. Would post some pictures, but im currently in Florida, and all my pictures arfe on the pc at home.

Well, i last went to six flags magic mountain 2 years ago. I have to say, Goliath and X are fantastic. Although Alton Towers is better, im sure you will have a good time

Full Throttle's record-setting vertical loop is expected to top the Superman: Krypton coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which holds the current title of world's tallest loop at 145 feet. Magic Mountain's own Viper, with a 144-foot-tall loop, is a close second, according to Roller Coaster Database.

Magic Mountain recently shuttered the 1971 Log Jammer water flume to make way for the 2013 coaster. The wooded six-acre parcel in the center of the park includes a sizable man-made lake that may play a role in the new attraction. Full Throttle may also make use of the old monorail tunnel that cuts through the hillside.

Magic Mountain officials declined to comment on the specifics of the mechanic's revelations, saying only that the park does not respond to rumors or speculation. An official announcement on the new 2013 attraction will be made in late summer.

Full Throttle would become Magic Mountain's 18th coaster, moving the California park ahead of Ohio's Cedar Point for the title of "Roller Coaster Capital of the World."

What do you all think about this? It sounds like it could be something really quite incredible! This sounds like very much their answer to Maverick. The "Maverick style" seems to have taken off massively recently, with iSpeed and Cheetah Hunt both very similar.

Manufacturer? The obvious would be Intamin. But I see no reason why it couldn't be a Mack, as Blue Fire's loop is one of the world's biggest I believe! I'd love it to be a Mack.
