They will be killing themselves. 15th August is almost 2/3 of the way through the German/European summer holidays. They'll have missed out on a lot of ticket sales!
Well, this is an F1 event. Tickets cost £hundreds. The ride is not open publicly until mid August. I am sure once it does open fully, E-Coasters/Coasterfriends/Tripsnpics etc. will be there to cover it for us!
People of TTF, I officially bring you the first video of the Launch!

Skip throught the talking bit to about 3.20 to see it, but if you feel like brushing up on your German feel free to watch the interview park as they show a few shots of the ride!
Word is, that is about 70kmph under the final launch speed. Apparently that was 130kmph but it should be 200kmph when it opens with the rest of the park in August. It still needs work, obviously demonstrated by the really shoddy station. If they don't work on that, I'll be disappointed.

That isn't the station, that is just the launch area. The station is inside the main building, and as it leaves it does a few zig zag style turns to get to the launch, to simulate tire warming on an F1 car.
However I also think that the launch area will recieve some final work before opening.
Also, if that is not the full speed that thing is going to be a real G machine!
Yeah that was knowhere near top speed launch, it crawled off the start. When you compare it to the likes of Dodonpa which is meant to be slower.
Ooops #-o Looks as though it could be next year opening! I bet that turn will be good after the launch. Next time I get to Germany, I must take a wee trip to see this moster in action.
There was an article in my weekly motorsport rag Motorsport News about this this week, whilst mostly motorsport related, I thoguht it rasied some valid points about the coaster's location:

New furniture for an old house
Hockenheim is on its knees and the Nurburgring management repeatedly claims is can't afford to accommodate Formula One on an annual basis. For a nation that stage two world championship grand prix every year from 1995 to 2006 and spawned 25 per cent of the current entry list, post-Schumacher Germany's relationship with F1 looks incresingly brittle.
There was little overt evidence of financial strain at the 'Ring last weekend, though. When this was simply the site of a sublime racetrack, the 14.2-mile Nordschleife, it was infused with soul but but surronded only by trees and grazing pasture. It is 25 years since it become just another venue - albeit a touch more interesting than some that have followed in its slipstream. Its perimeter now contains a freshly built shopping complex, sports arena (the WBA middleweight title fight between Felix Sturm and Khoren Gevor took place there on Saturday ngiht). bars, cafes and, obviously, the world's fastest rollercoaster (at least, it is until Ferrari World opens next year in Abu Dhabi).
It is the result of a reported investment for 281 million euros [£242 million] that is designed to make the 'Ring an everyday destination, rather than somewhere you go occasionally to thrash the living daylights out of a Subaru Impreza. A fresh infrastructure cannot, however mask the fact that this remains the middle of nowhere. As a German colleague said, "Can you imagine how busy it will be in February, when it's minus 5? Who will want to come here then? We seem to be good at building things that are completely useless."
Sorry that was long winded until I reached the point that was relavent, but the article would of made little sense without it! I certainly wouldn't just go for one rollercoaster and I have no idea what this Ferrari World is but it sounds like it might make a mockery of this ride within a year! I hope I haven't wasted your time with that
Doesn't anyone think that making rides so quick is a bit extreme! Launch rides aren't my favourite rides in the world, but I don't think I want to go on that as I feel that it is too extreme for my liking!
