No chance of that happening with the current team (being more official that is, not becoming a bigger park...)
Anyone who has met Ashley will know what an approachable and friendly chap he is, and one of the values he has instilled at Lightwater Valley is to be as open and as honest as possible.

New photos from LWV's Facebook...
Looks on a par with Mutiny Bay in terms of theming!

a bit hard to judge it against MB form the above pictures as they hardly show any theming (a skull rock, a barrol, some rope fencing and a ride control building) . I am sure there will be lots of great theming by the time it opens and who knows it might look better than MB but those pictures dont show enough to say it looks anywhere near as good a MB in my opinion.

The thing to remember with MB is that it was a complete area given a relatively minor retheme (albeit to a good standard), similar to Raptor Attack last year. This is an entirely new area created from scratch, and a much bigger challenge.
From the pictures released so far it seems that LWV are more than up to the job, hopefully it looks as good in person as it does in the photos.

It's on the list of things to do!
Whirlwind is leaving Mondial tomorrow, expected to arrive at the Valley early next week. As ever, you can count on Valley Mania for construction photos!

Better than Mutiny Bay?
From what exactly? The barrell? The skull?
I fail to see this being better than Mutiny Bay - and that's not even saying Mutiny Bay is particularly amazing... But at least MB has the original Towers Courtyard and very well themed Battle Galleons...
I am sure for LWV it will be a good themed area but let's not get carried away here... it is unlikely they will deliver an area better than what Merlin did with Towers.

I think it's all about what they achieve with limited resources; I'd imagine mutiny bay costing a fortune to theme, I'd imagine this rather less so. The fact that they are comparable at all, is testimony to what they appear to be achieving. Remember also that this is a park with little to no theming, so this will stand out a mile to new visitors, and hopefully represents where the park is going.
I totally agree about that, but I really doubt this is comparable to Battle Galleons in terms of themed experience.

There's a lot more theming to come guys; the Pièce de résistance is currently hibernating in Market Square.
Another update (nothing terribly exciting to see TBH);

Whirlwind is now on-site, as are Mondial (in charge of installation).
Will hopefully have some photos for you later.

How 'permanent' will it look?

Even Samurai doesn't look permanent. As long as the generator isn't right under the arm I'll be happy

I don't think there are any immediate plans to theme the ride, but it should hopefully look a lot more tidy than Top Buzz last year.
