So today a new update was posted with a visit to Magic Kingdom. Most of the stuff will not be of interest but there are a few good pictures of the SDMT and the cottage that is near completion. Also there is a hyperlink that takes you to another page where workers have been spotted riding the ride so we know that the minimum amount of testing has far been complete!

Attractions Magazine have released this video of what appears to be the first riders on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train:
It is thought the riders were part of the filming of the new advert for the ride

I must say Disney always make rides with great stories and great themeing. This ride looks like the perfect family ride that both adults and kids are going to enjoy. I will be very excited to see a POV and more pictures of this.

Also we can see a fastpass queue which could mean fastpasses for this ride could be available straight away for hotel guests only. And look at the detail on that sign!!

So we have a new video from disney imagineering showing all of the audio animatronics in the indoor section of the ride. It looks amazing and some of the best ride technology I've ever seen!
If you want to keep the indoor section a surprise then I'd highly recommend you do not watch the video.

We finally have an actual on-ride POV. It looks like quite a fun ride that has amazing theming, which you would expect, and the animatronics are especially impressive.

We have an opening date! A number of sources have stated on Twitter that the ride will open on May 28th.

The main source is Attractions Magazine who stated the announcement was made at the dedication ceremony for the ride

I can give you an official source - me. Was on park Friday and the entrance has 'opening May 28th' plastered over it. It's also been on local news channels.
The trains were testing almost non-stop as if to tease us, but no signs of any soft openings.
I have a bunch of pics I'll post when I'm back in the UK.
From what I saw Friday, and from the POVs that are doing the rounds, I can't see why it needs another 2 weeks of tweaking. Just Disney covering themselves while ensuring they beat Diagon Alley's opening by a few weeks I guess.

Another quick update now, nothing of much interest. It confirms a few things and includes some little details, including a review of someone who's rode it.
The thing that interests me most is the first picture I've seen of the front of the Cottage! Scroll about halfway down on the left.
The attention to detail is amazing!

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I didn't see another topic about it.
At around 10.20pm last night, stray firework embers set light to a section of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Full story, with pics and video below:
http://myfox8.com/2014/11/01/seven-dwar ... ney-world/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Amazingly, given how serious it looks in the video, the fire was extinguished quickly and the ride was only closed for less than 2 hours!

Unfortunately Disney seem to have had another "one step forward two steps back" moment for some fans again after it's come to light a famous and iconic scene from the Pirates of The Caribbean attraction is being modified.
The "Wench Auction" scene is set to be altered to swap the women with chickens. It is believed to be due to the scene being too mature for some children, even though it has stayed fairly similar since the attractions opening day in 1973 (approximately 44 years ago). There are also concerns over the political correctness of the scene, however that's a whole other debate.
To me personally it seems like Disney are tackling a non-issue, and in all honesty the replacement sounds fairly lack lustre.
The refurbishment is anticipated for 2018. Hopefully this doesn't upset too many, as the ride will likely still be a great experience!

With the design that the TRON Coaster in Shanghai has, I would have thought they would have been able to have the rollercoaster and "domes" over the top of the speedway and the show building out side of the railroad behind Space Mountain.
