BUMP!

This event is still on and has been moved to this Saturday. I'll be there (I signed up via Thorpe Park Mania since Hurri hasn't been on TTF since April). Wristbands are £7 for anyone attending the event, but you'll have to let Hurri know beforehand to take advantage of the offer.

Hopefully I won't be the sole representative of TTF!

Changed the name of this topic as the in-house flat ride is much more exciting news!

The bad news is The Time Machine has been delayed until 2012, as announced by AI in this rather ridiculous news article on their website.

Some interesting photos of the ride under construction in their workshop:

Still, the idea of a brand new innovative flat ride home-made by a British park is quite exciting! There's a chance they could accidentally make something incredible! :D

Ridiculously awesome! :P

Clever way to put a spin on what is otherwise disappointing news.

This was originally supposed to open with the new rollercoaster, but does the place need another spinning ride? Probably not. That ad their other home built flats aren't great.

I love to get the chance to see and ride one of these.
As long as there is Imagination in the World, there will be bigger, better rides!

What is the latest on this development? We have not heard anything for a long time, and I think they have done very well to keep the real nature of the ride a secret for such a long time.

I'm afraid even on the Adventure Island forum there doesn't seem to be any news on this at all. :|

It's very much still in development. It's a very impressive bit of kit and should be making an appearance this coming season.

Adventure Island guide seems to be the leading fan site for all things Adventure Island.

The AIGF is run by a person who actually works at the park (Hurri) and so all the news and pictures come from a primary first hand perspective - as well as being a good chat community (find me on there: Ragenrushnclaw).

So I can see that lately many new topics have been made for seaside attractions and as this is my local amusement park I thought why not?!
This is for any discussions about the park but I'd also like to find out your opinions on it. Especially from people who haven't been. What's your initial thoughts? Have a look on the website to see a full view of rides and what the park is all about here: http://www.adventureisland.co.uk

Halloween 2012 saw the addition of Time Machine. I've been on this so many times now but I find it such an amazing ride. It may look small and fun fair type ride however I have never been on a ride so comfortable, and forceful in all my life bar nemesis. So what's your opinions on this and is there any merlin parks this would suit?

Also 2013 saw the removal of Blackbeards, which was a small themed area of the park themed to pirates. That has been completely demolished and is just an empty space now. Rumours rose about plans for a star flyer but nothing has been confirmed. For a small park this is a rather large space:

If anyone has been before and would like to leave reviews on rides, maybe name their favourite rides, anything Adventure Island related post here! :)

Being a Colchester lad I've visited Adventure Island quite often. For what it is, it's a decent little park. Rage may be an off-the-shelf model, but I find it more enjoyable than many bigger and longer Eurofighters, plus I love that the owners choose not to remove the birds nest at the top of the loop! One of those quirky little touches that a ruthless big business would ignore.

There's a couple of half-decent flats, and I quite enjoy the slanted house, for it's old skool qualities.

Overall, does it compete with Alton Towers or Thorpe Park? No. But given the general decline of the seaside resort in the last 20 years, especially in comparison to local seaside towns like Clacton and Walton, Adventure Island and Southend council as a whole are doing an admiral job.

Plus it looks quite nice at night...

Maybe a mini meet could be arranged :)

One thing I love about it is that it's open till 10pm almost all of the open season!! Half price wristbands from 6 so I find that really good. And as far as seaside attraction are concerned I think this is the best.

I've visited Adventure Island twice (It's one hell of a trek from the South West) but I also love this little park. Haven't been since they moved "Mini Mega" so I'm due another visit :-)

Rage is a really good ride for such a small park and I like how the park is finding new ways to fit more in (I.E Coaster being built on top of the arcade). One of my favorite attractions is "Over The Hill" as it's completely unique but suitable for everyone.

I didn't know they removed the Pirate area of the park. I remember the area being a bit boring as during my visit all the little shops and cafe places were closed which just left the 3D Cinema attraction (The thing inside of the Pirate Ship). I wonder what they have planned for this area? I wonder if they are going to build something here and add rides above it as if i remember this area is in quite a dip from the main road / pavilion.

Also they must be due a new attraction soon! The last new attraction was Time Machine and that was 2 years ago and even that opened a year late!

No new rides are opening at the park for open season and other than re concreting, no other work has gone on. I have read somewhere that apparently they plan to move some current rides down there so they can make room for a new coaster. I have so e ideas that I'll share later :)
