I just wish Stealth was built as the original plans showed.

Thorpe need to spend a couple of seasons making mild additions and just sorting themselves out.

Then they need to add a high capacity ride to soak up guests...

Don't tell us that you know stuff, but aren't at liberty to say what. It's plain rude, and somewhat obnoxious.

If you can't say it, don't tell anyone that you know it.

I can't say what is leaving since thorpe want it to be kept secret like sw6. So please don't say that it's rude and obnoxious because i'm not aiming to sound rude and obnoxious. Sorry if my comment has offended you.

Yes I also wanted Stealth to turn out as it looked like in the plans but unfortunately it would of looked a lot like Xcellerator at Knotts Berry Farm and we know what thorpe are like they on't alwas stick to their plans, but hopefully their new coasters opening in a few years will turn out as they originally look in the plans.

My point is that if you know stuff that you can't tell us, such as what is leaving Thorpe, then don't tell us that you know it in the first place. Keeping a fact secret isn't just about not telling it to people, it's about not telling them that you even know the fact.

Get that right, and I'm sure you'll have a great time on this board. Welcome, by the way :)

One of the main things I would like to see improved at Thorpe Park is the entrance plaza. At the moment it looks so run down and the temporary metal barriers don't help at all.

When you compare it to Alton and their permanent wooden fences it makes a big difference.

I agree they should do something with the ticket area not only are the metal fences poor but collecting pre-booked tickets from wooden mobile hut does not give a good impression. They have the space at Thorpe to do a far nicer ticket area than Alton if they spent money on it.

Yeah the metal fences are quite pathetic and yes Thorpe have enough space to build a nicer ticket area. They should also consider putting up tv screens which play a video showing off their rides like this video does ... rofilepage
but they should update it when they add/remove a ride.

Good progress is being made on the two new islands in the lake behind Stealth but I'd expect it will be another 2-3 years before they're used for development.

In the immediate future, aren't we to expect a dark ride near the log flume?

I haven't heard that before - is there any space though? I thought they used up most of the space for SAW.

I would love to see them open up the lake that loggers leap sits in a bit more as maybe decking that allows guests to view the ride closer and a bar area.

Latest I have heard is that Colossus is set to get a repaint and Samurai re-themed for 2010. Not sure though, could all be hot water.

Colossus repaint is badly needed, however.

Amen to that!

When you compare how it was back in 2002 to now it looks like it's 10 years older than it actually is!

I have heard recently from a friend that works in London at Maddame Tussauds, that Thorpe next season plan to install the following:

A topspin ride on Fungle Safari spot. Like the topspin found at Phantasia land!
Colossus Re-Paint
Samurai re-theme

A floorless topspin would be a good addition as there isn't one in the UK, It would be a publicity ploy, knowing Thorpe they would advertise it being a first of its kind! :P I cant see the ride being as heavily themed as the one in Phantasia Land! It would be nice tho if it was.

Colossus is indeed in need of a major re paint. It would be nice to see it without all the rust and oil stains on the supports under the lift hill. New trains is probably asking too much!

As for the samurai re-theme it a wee bit over due as it should have been done in line with Saw opening. I think if it is to be themed in line with Saw, it should be relocated onto the Saw island. The area where Saw is feels like it is its own area away from the Lost City and Canada Creek.

A floorless top spin would be good, but as Chessington have Rameses and Alton have Ripsaw, I don't think it would make much commercial sense. Also, Thorpe have enough spin/spew flat rides.

Also, throughputs on the floorless model are very poor compared to standard ones due to the time taken for the floor to lower/raise and the ride to park.

I thought thorpe had accepted/self imposed a height restriction in exchange for building stealth. When does that expire?

If it wasn't for that the obvious conclusion would be intamin hyper/giga

I know its not long after Saws opening, but has anyone heard anything else of the supposed hotel plans other than those pictures that surfaced a couple of years ago? I'd like to be able to stay there before im 40

I doubt Thorpe have sorted what they're getting for 2012. So I reckon that's rubbish.

I agree, I mean I could just do something like that and post it on the internet somewhere claiming it's from Thorpe, and no-one would belive me. Thorpe might have a rough idea of what they want to do for 2012, for example, they might want something major to tie in with the Olympics, but they certainly won't have decided that they want a massive steep coaster, let alone start releasing teasers. They've got 2010 and 2011 to worry about before all of that.
