Ok so her goes. What do you think we will be seeing at THORPE PARK in 2010. The Long Term Development Plan says that a bobsleigh roller coaster was planed for 2010 but with Dylan this is most likely not going to happin. The Medium Term Development Plan also metions a seconed detonator tower although i dont hink this is going to happin. What do you think? Iwould love to see 2 S&S power tower thing were detonater is now and of cource a replacement for X.

[quote=""Mankey""]2010 is the year their hotel is Constructed if i'm not mistaken.

I thought that was Drayton Manor?
TBH Thorpe drastically need to improve their family attractions. They really don't need any more thrill or water rides and definately no more flats (unless they plan on replacing the current ones with more reliable models!!!) for at least another couple of years (after the new eurofighter for 2009) and they could really do with some sort of Haunted House attraction or something on the scale of the Runaway Mine Train or possibly a new dark ride. But the most important factor they need to put right for the start of the next decade is the general atmosphere of the park, clean it up a bit, add some more theming up to the standard of that around Tidal Wave, improve reliability of attractions and staff, that's what they need to be looking to do for 2010.

I didn't think they even had a hotel planned, thats why I started the ''Thorpe Park - ever to become a resort?'' topic, and no-one mentioned on there they planned to build a hotel...

The MTDP has been relatively accurate so far. Where either the attractions stated have been built or something very similar has opened. So if this trend continues, the future should look something like this...
2008/2009 - A rollercoaster in Canada Creek located near Loggers Leap
2010/2011 - Treasure Island kids corner which would include 3 flat rides
2011/2012 - A Fantasy Island/Runaway Train ride and play zone
2012/2013 - A Haunted House ride
2013/2014 - A Bobsleigh Ride south of the Dome
2016/2018 - X:/ No Way Out may be replaced

The next 6 to 8 years are looking VERY family then...!
2010 will be Alton's year so a quiet one at Thorpe I should think.

A bobsleigh ride?! Yeah I like them very much but it's hardly cutting edge?
Anyone know how successful Blackpool's was? Judging by how many of them there are in the UK and how I keep reading persistent rumours about Avalanche and the Dipper being swapped for something new then I am presuming "not very" :P

In my opinion Thorpe need another Dark Ride, I want the Wicked Witches Haunt back its nice to see that they might be adding one soon though.
But seeing as their only dark ride is X:/WTF?! its not really much. The thing about dark rides, is most people will see it, and get curious as to what it is, thus they tend to pull in quite a bit of a queue!

X:/WTF?
Haha love that.
Yea they really do need a dark ride. when all the new islands are complete they could turn one of them totaly into a dark ride. Maybe a boat ride that then goes out over the lake.

I agree, a decent dark ride would go down very well, something all parks in the UK seem to be lacking at the moment...
I remember the rumours about the hotel going in, but I didnt know it was still under development, pleased to hear it though, would be a great addition to the park.

Oh, meant to say, if anyone has been on the Return of the Mummy ride in Universal Orlando, something along the lines of this would be an amazing addition to Thorpe or Alton... Very good partial dark ride...

New hotel? Dark ride?
I've only heard about the hotel and that wasn't planned for 2010, I read somwhere that thorpe want to build a woodie, and use alton's 200ft valley drop design with a few alterations of course. I also read somewhere that Thorpe were planning a woodie for this season gone, but it would not have got planning permission because of the height.
If you're wondering how "Stealth" got permission it's because they painted the top half white to fit into the background. Anyway back to the woodie, rumours (and these are just rumours) that the woodie was being planned to fit behind loggers leap. Or make a new island behind stealth and run all the way from behind flying fish and into the new island (I think lake filling has already started on the new island).
Yeah this is a long post hehe!
