Long Term, I would say that the "Thrill only" product will not work. However, short/medium term, Thorpe Park will continue to do very well out of it.

The Credit Crunch isn't really an issue, as Alton Towers (the "appeals to all" park) had an amazing season in '08 in terms of guest numbers.

Thorpe, legoland and Chessington all have to have 'niche's' as they are so close together.

Legoland has lego.

Chessington = family

Thorpe = Thrill

Alton, being the only 'north' park Merlin own, has to cater for all.

Back on topic,

Looks way too light to me. Could just be the photo, but it doesn't imply a dark SAW ride.

Doesn't it open to press, and selected enthusiasts a day early?

Could that be for the people who win the ride it first competition?

I believe there is a press day, to which a foreign forum has been invited.

Still not confirmed though Dan, Last I heard Thorpe was ignoring them about the request for the preview day. :twisted:

Just a hint.. That photo was of the back of the building that wont be seen from inside the park except the outside queue.

The front of the building is a lot more impressive.

Inside is exceedingly dark.

Im sure I read somewhere that the countdown on the mini-site runs to Friday 13th. I expect that SAW will be running on Friday 13th, but it will be media / competition winners day.

I'm wuite sure that Friday The 13th is the press day and competition winners only.

I guess, unless someone's won we could never know.
