More advertisement for the ride in the movie and the movie on the ride? Do Thorpe sell the DVDs in the Saw store? If not I see it being quite popular!

No, they don't sell DVDs as I suppose these would be seen as adult material. All merchandise is 'relatively' family friendly, on a similar spec to Halloween merch.

I'm pretty sure when the ride was new that they were selling the DVDs. I remember a hint to Saw 8 in one of the Insidious films (I think?) so I'm not surprised they were ready to pick the franchise back up. Some joint advertising could boost the "horror" appeal of the park again especially with DBGT.

So apparently Saw - The Ride has been down for the last few days. Hope it's not anything too serious and they get it back up soon. Going to Thorpe next month so plenty of time :P I know the ghost train is gonna be getting all the attention but I really love the atmosphere of Saw.

First thing I thought of when I heard it was broken: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a shame to see it down, it's my favourite ride at Thorpe.

(Btw, that's Billy on the bike not Jigsaw :))

Does anybody know the cause of the downtime? If it's closed when I go for my birthday I'll be so upset :'(

EDIT: I just got a reply from Thorpe on twitter that it's just maintenance work

Guys I'm a bit baffled not gonna lie.
I went to Thorpe on Fright Night this year and I rode Saw: The Ride twice. I normally really dislike Saw (kill me if u want lol) but this time was different. It was SO much smoother. Like did anyone else notice this? I even asked a ride op is it me or is this smoother than last year and she was like idk lol.
Please someone answer me if i've gone mad lol but I really did notice a difference

Saw has got a lot smoother in the last couple of years, what this is down to I have no idea, but I've noticed it as well. :)

I agree Saw has definitely got smoother as the years go on, I remember it being awful in my visit in 2011. I do think certain cars are worse than others but it's generally a smooth, more enjoyable ride now :)

It certainly depends on which car you get, seeing as I rode it at Fright Nights three times, with it being rough twice and smooth once :)

I have bern in the minority for a few years, but I don't find Saw rough at all, although some do. I've always had enjoyable rides and rate it as my No.1 coster at Thorpe Park.

If I like The Smiler, will I like Saw: The Ride?

Well I love The Smiler, and I really like Saw (Based on the one ride I've had on it) so does that answer your question? :D :P

Bern?
Ha!... been!

If you like the Smiler then I am sure you will love Saw, although they are completely different rides.

It's melted your brain :lol

I actually find Saw to be the weakest of the coasters at Thorpe. The indoor section is quite pleasant but the rest is just painful beyond belief.

I do wonder if it is a height thing?
I fit quite comfortably in the restraints, so my head is clear.
