@davetheshuffler you have to ride to complete the game fully! Plus look out for some ace pieces coming out for The Smiler Scanner

This surely means there'll be codes around the park ahead of opening, but what will they do...

@DarHodg more interesting pieces of AR to unlock on The Smiler Scanner coming next week, make sure you update your app before your visit!

i heard somewhere that you have to be in the right gps spot (AT) for the qr codes to work, correct me if im wrong

I haven't, the only reason I ask is because I have downloaded it on my iPad and I am not taking my iPad into the park!

Seems theres the following things to scan in the app;

Under the name 'Alton Towers':
"posterLong"
"atsmiler"
"smilerPoster"
"AltonTowers"

Under the name 'Sun':
"Sun"

Under the name 'Smiler':
"SmilerLogo"

Further to the above, I may not have a helicopter like MI7, but I have a laptop 
Here are all the scannable images currently in use in the Smiler app.

Heres the 2 latest things to scan in the 1.04 version of the app.

On Android, the app doesnt request any access to location features so can't be using GPS...

By scanning this I unlocked the achievment 'on location' for unlocking all hidden tags

Yep - that's because it will be on the back of the tickets

I got the achievement so I guess this proves that there is nothing about GPS for the images

To save the chance of info hacks they have not incorporated any secret element QR codes or AR images yet. And I guarantee there will be an update after the ride opens that will allow more funky thing to be shown. Including secret things we don't know yet.

Calm down before telling me to think.  I'm just giving you information and can't necessarily explain why AT do what they do...
It's only more advertising and so why would you think everyone needs to see it? Do you think everyone with the Smiler app purchased the Sun newspaper to scan the picture there? Do you think everyone would automatically pick up a park map to scan it?

They're actually on little Smiler cards, sort of like business cards. Have a look on the Towers2Go FB page...

I think The Smiler Game is awesome! I have completed it already but the only bad thing about the app is that I never win on the Wheel of Win! I use my upgrade points to get more go's but I just can't win a prize!

Marmaliser Stage 5 (Upgrade all marmaliser legs)
Pro Mechanic (Upgrade all ride segments)
Tilt Trainee (Only get 'OK' round the ride)
My first smile (Play the game for the first time)
Super Marmaliser (Marmalise 100% of the riders)
Repetron (play the game 100 times)
On location (scan all hidden tags)
Smiley Surfer (Visit Alton Towers website)
Happy Hoarder (Hoard 700 credits)
Rail rush ( use the boost)
Throttle thriller (Boost for 14 seconds in one ride)
Round the twist (Get a 'perfec't round a loop)

So that means i still have to get,

Spin and Win ( win a prize on the competition)
Tilt Master (only get good around the ride)
Sisyphean (Play the game 500 times)

The only one I'm having trouble with is the tilt master.

What have you done or what are you having troubles with? Also any tips on any of them?

Am I the only one not able to get "play 100 times"?

I can assure you I have played well more than that but do you have to play 100 times in one day or something?

I attempted downloading the game onto my laptop using Bluestacks, which allows you to download apps from the android store, but unfortunately it's too glitchy, and crashes and freezes a lot. This may be because my laptop hasn't got a high enough spec, or it@s simply because the game wasn't designed for a computer.

If anyone is interested in downloading it, to see if it will work for you, you will need Bluestacks, and then you should be able to work out the rest.

I played the game when I was round my freinds house, and it is amazing, could have been made a bit harder, lol

Ok so we can confirm that the Smiler Trains are the same as the ingame soooo with that out of the way, whats the 7 unlockable secret elements..this just got more interesting
