i give you oblvion by the chinese lol
just imagine it vertical ;)
That coaster is in Japan.
Yep, certainly is.

http://rcdb.com/1290.htm

The chinese often name their coasters things, when translated into English, sound ridiculous. Some examples:

http://rcdb.com/6412.htm
http://rcdb.com/6150.htm
http://rcdb.com/9221.htm
http://rcdb.com/5166.htm
http://rcdb.com/5689.htm

They also rip off other manufacturers too.

So yeah, basically, not very good coasters.

I love the water I could easily imagine  Oblivion dropping into that perhaps been beyond Vertical so all  you can see is the water as you drop! keep the mist but thicken it up a bit so you can't see and then some water jets and water sound effects and it will make you feel like your going under water!

However I would lose the pink!

I believe that ride is called 'G5'. It's basically a mirrored Oblivion clone... Which makes it very weird to see a POV of

I can't believe you are comparing this, as a clone to Oblivion. You really don't know what you are talking about. Let me tell all these good people the amazing difference between this and Oblivion (in terms of track). Oblivion's got an 87 degree drop, right? This is 87.5 DEGREES! AN ENTIRE 0.5 DEGREE DIFFERENCE! ;)

But yeah, G5's very good at showing the sheer scale of how much of Oblivion drop is underground. Just above the bridge is pretty much where the ground would be on Oblivion.

It doesn't feel like you go that far down when you're on the ride, 68 mph isn't exactly slow!! Haha :)

Also blivvy is the fastest acceleration on park, even quicker than Rita, because it is going from stand still to 68mph in a couple of seconds . :)

What's this all got to do with the refurbishment of X Sector?

So, repeating someone's previous question, has anyone got any pictures of The Smiler theming element in the X Sector central island?

It hasn't been put in yet, and only consists of a concrete slab with grass around it. The only theming at the minute for The Smiler is the Marmaliser which currently has three of its legs up along with the main hub.

One thing that really does need sorting in X-Sector is the Rehydrator, it looked absolutely shocking yesterday!

The trees either side of it have grown far too big! And the whole thing is covered in rust/mould.

The pipes have slowly lost their orange colour, it's really faded now, and the fake concrete at their bases where they attach to the upper platform of the building have been smashed and worn away, they really do look terrible.

It really does stand out now that the rest if the area has been done up, apart from the shocking stake of the Rehydrator and the X-Sector entrance which just needs a good polish the rest of X-Sector is looking great!

I really wish they'd sort out the Rehydrator though, it just looks a mess.

Just a quick thought.. The van theming element in X sector. Couldn't it be the ambulance used in this video: ??? I mean it seems a bit of a waste for Alton towers to buy an ambulance and only use it for one day. :)

I was there the last 3 days and Oblivion's trains are still the same but, the track and supports have all been repainted black (they were already black, but now its not weathered) and the oblivion symbol is on some of them to. The smoke/steam effect on the drop hole has been removed, the whole spray system/pipes are gone. Sad days...
Submission still rattles like crazy so no referb there and enterprise is still the same. Its just a case now of the smiler opening, I expect they will shut down the x-sector before removing the banners/fence and while testing. More could happen then not to mention the whole area will look and feel different. Sorry for the long post.

The mist effect you talk about is not on currently - I personally believe the reason for this is because The Smiler will tap into the same water source as Oblivions misters and will be used for either The Giggler, The Inoculator or both.
MattCamMans wrote: Submission still rattles like crazy so no referb there and enterprise is still the same.
Submission and Enterprise have both had extensive refurbishments - Enterprise more so with having a completely new central hub and arms. Submission has had both arms checked over and put back together and both arms are working but only one is currently used due to there not being a need for the other just yet. Once The Smiler opens chances are there will be a need for both arms to be used.

Not sure what you mean when you say it 'rattles' but if you mean you can hear noises like stones rolling around inside it is fragments of metal inside the main carriage base that are there when it was fabricated.

They won't need to shut down X-Sector as the boards being removed will be the last thing coming down the day before the ride is due to open and all the boards can be removed the night before once the park has shut for the day. I also doubt they will shut X-Sector due to testing as there is a safe working environment/envelope around the ride already. I guess effects testing may happen once the park closes at night to keep them a surprise - even though everyone has a good idea of what will happen effects-wise.
