Don't know how technically possible it is...but a jump. I can only imagine what it'd be like to go airborne over a gap in the track

Not a ride idea, but I've recently wondered why rollercoasters don't have suspension? It would be incredible! Does anyone know why it hasn't been done/ couldn't be done?

Suspension is used for flattening out lumps and bumps in the road.danwhit709 wrote: Not a ride idea, but I've recently wondered why rollercoasters don't have suspension? It would be incredible! Does anyone know why it hasn't been done/ couldn't be done?
A rollercoaster track is perfectly smooth.
There would be no point in it.
Plus, I believe coaster trains do have a small amount of give in them anyway for going over the track joins.

not sure if its done. but worlds first magnetic floating train so the train does not make any contact to the track. smooth as you like . so the positive and negative magnetic fields would propel the train.
so something like this would be the basis of the idea.....
