Excellent news! Really great to see that this once-forgotten park seems to be determined to continue its climb back to the top that it's begun with Van Helsing's Factory.

The Ice Age Adventure ride was one of their weaker dark rides, especially the animatronics, so really glad to see that get some love.

This new rollercoaster also sounds very exciting. When I left the park, I didn't imagine I'd return for many years, although I had a pleasant day there, but if they build a new coaster as good as/better than VHF, then it'll be worth the return trip! I love seeing a park on the way up.

But do they really need a hotel? 

Hotel might well help bring in the punters from abroad in a way, especially being relatively close to the border of Holland...

For some reason, I hope they get another small indoor coaster, like VHF. I'd love them to start building up a collection of small but perfectly-formed indoor coasters, each one different in some way, like a box of posh chocolates.

A launch ride of some sort, perhaps a Gerst, would work well.

They need a stand out well themed B&M, preferably replacing their Slurc

I really doubt they can afford a B&M. Especially with the amount of other stuff they want to do, and build a hotel.

I agree though, the SLC needs ripping out. Keep Bandit as it isn't that bad and is well-themed, but that SLC can burn in hell.

I had a soft spot for Bandit! The theming was fine. Not amazing, but it's certainly not a bad looking coaster.

As a ride experience, it's nothing to write home about, but it wasn't un-enjoyable, like MP-Express. It was reasonably fun, if a little rough.

Bandit was horrific but it does have a certain charm about it.

As for the stunt show, I'm pleased that it's being changed. We tried to watch it a few weeks ago, we ended up walking out after 10 minutes. The stunts were brilliant but they only occured every 10/15 mins with lots of terrible acting inbetween.

I do love Movie Park on the whole though, I Can't wait to see these future developments take shape.

I am *so* pleased to hear of these planned improvements! The park is fantastic, but it is very much a case of 'what it used to be', as the theming in areas is falling apart and the park in general doesn't look very well kept (and that was with me visiting during the first few weeks of it opening for the season!).

I found the SLC to be painful, and not pleasant in the slightest as a rule of thumb I shall avoid all Vekoma SLCs from now! In fact, I think I'll just avoid most things Vekoma (Goudurix is not excactly the smoothest thing I've ever ridden, either).

Bandit was pretty dire, too - I ended up winded half way around from the fact I laughed so hard at how diabolical it was, coupled with severe jolts from the track and train!

I loved Mystery River, and am very pleased they are giving the attraction some much needed TLC - with a bit of paint and a touch up on the animatronics (fungus ftl), then that thing could be superb.

Nickland - two attractions? Could they really fit anything else in there?!

*gets on knees and prays* Mack launch coaster, I beg of you!!

This is great news and just what the park needs. It will certainly get me back to the park as I love some of the stuff they already have, most notably Van Helsing's Factory and the drop tower! I'd love it to be a Mack but I reckon if that rumour is true that it will be an Intamin or maybe even a Maurer Söhne like Shock at Rainbow Magic Land!

Movie Park yesterday announced a major new addition for 2017 - Star Trek: Operation Enterprise.

The park have confirmed via their website (in German) that they are constructing a launched coaster themed around the popular sci fi franchise Star Trek. Confirmed to be manufactured by German company Mack, the coaster will not only feature a launch, but also an element which will be unique to that coaster in Europe, although exactly what this element is is currently being kept a secret. The ride will be located near the entrance area of the park and will be the second highest structure, with only the park's freefall drop tower being higher.

Movie Park will become the only park in the world to hold the Star Trek IP license, and with a new film due out this year, and new television series due by 2018, it would seem a very good choice to attract visitors to the park. There has previously been a Star Trek themed coaster located at Carrowinds Theme Park in the USA - Borg Assimulator - however this was stripped of it's Star Trek theming after Paramount sold the park. The Star Trek IP is also a theme that is planned to be used within the proposed Paramount Entertainment Resort on the Swanscombe Peninsular, however it is not clear if or how Movie Park's deal will impact on any agreement London Paramount may have.

Movie Park have already started construction and have posted a time lapse video of construction so far to their YouTube channel.

This certainly seems a very interesting and exciting development for Movie Park. It will be interesting to see exactly how the Star Trek IP fits in and which characters will feature. Definitely one o keep an eye on for next year.

A Star Trek themed MACK launch? Well there's another park on my impossibly long bucket list! Do we know if it's a Mega or a family one and if it has a unique layout or not?

I would assume it's a megacoaster due to them saying it has a height of 45m. I was already planning to go there July next year whilst I'm near but now I'm even more excited

Its nice to see Movie Park boldly go where no man has gone before. It sounds like it will be a great addition for the park. I will be keeping an eye on this and I hope it will live long and prosper.
