This looks very interesting. It's nice to see all these developments in Europe at the moment, but as mentioned above it would be lovely to see some new investment on this scale in the UK. Give the current parks some healthy competition.

this looks stunning!

So this chain of 7 parks, will they be built together or in completely separate locations?

It's a bit unclear in the video, but it seems to suggest that they'll ALL be built within Limburg; the southernmost province in Holland - where Toverland is situated too. This seems pretty optimistic to me for a relatively small area... but who knows, plenty of people come across from Belgium to visit the Efteling, and Limburg is much closer to large population centres in Germany too.

My Dutch isn't what it used to be though, so maybe I misunderstood that. 8-[

I believe seven parks will be the most parks in one resort in the world. The current record holder is presumably Disney World Florida with six, if you count the water parks.

I suspect we won't be seeing seven theme parks. I imagine at least one will be a waterpark, one may be more of a safari or wildlife park, and maybe one will be like an Epcot/Futuroscope "discovery park".

Seven full size theme parks is expensive!

Awesome find! I'll have to add it on to the list with the other thousand European parks I want to go to x_x

On another note, did anyone else notice the 'UFO carrousel'? is it me, or does that look absolutely awesome concept wise?

Oh, I thought they were going to get an SuperSplash?

Well this is much more exciting! I hope it's really well themed. I'd like to see something similar to EuroMir built one day.

This is better than the planned "Odysseus" Super Splash.

Looking forward to this! A new-gen Mack Spinning Coaster at one of the decent parks in Europe! Woo!

What makes it new-gen, out of interest? Hope this is open at the same time as the EP woodie! Doubt it somehow though...

As in the newer ones have a track nothing like Euro Mir, and are free spinning - as opposed to controlled.

Basically, they built Euro Mir. It was too oddball. It didn't sell*. So they went with free spinning trains and now they're selling them to the best parks in the world.

Result!

:)

*I kind of like it how Euro Mir has retained it's unique weirdness though.

Screamscape tells us that the coaster will be built "behind the Booster Bike".

I really hope this kicks Efteling's arse into gear in terms of getting a new coaster/actually building Hartenhof like Toverland did with Booster Bike and Troy!.

Don't know where they got that from, the behind the boosterbike part. The only thing known so far is that the track will be 500 metres long.

I wouldn't count on it, Toverland's spinning is only going to be the 1.000.000th spinning coaster in the region so far ;) . I know they do respect Toverland though as it's a good quality park. Only recently, someone else more or less took over at Toverland who was a former Efteling employee. He got his PhD in themepark investments, so that's why he acquired this management position at Toverland. He also announced that Toverland will be more focusing on the 12+ youngsters market in the future (suicide, in my opinion; the charm of the park always was that it was really nice for families with younger children). Youngsters will only like Boosterbike, Troy and this new Spinning probably and maybe some other rides as the Swinging Ship, but afterwards they will get bored and trash the play areas for the smaller children and gone is your family friendly place. Yes, I know I'm generalizing...

Toverland also announced a new addition for 2013, but didn't want to say what it was. Don't take it too seriously though, if the park would have build all the rides that it announced, they would have more rides than Europa. Efteling is sometimes bad at this too, but at least they wait with the announcement till they request a building permit by which a new plan will get public anyway, Toverland's management told four years ago that they wanted a B&M and would be bigger than Efteling in 2012...

100% agree.
They have a lot of free Space and this is there own Area. But the money to build rides isnt there at the moment.
Efteling take a lot of peoples since they open the whole Year. And the last Winter are really hard and not enough People are going to a Themepark.
I like Toverland, good Rides, and friendly Staff Members, but they dont have to say every Idee what they want to build. This is not good for the Fans.

I think the Mack Spinning Coaster will add masses of appeal to a visit here.

I have already been three times, because I rate Troy so highly and the admission is only around £17 equivalent.

Toverland

As we previously knew Toverland will this year add a Mack Spinning Coaster behind their Booster Bike, however it has now emerged that this isn't the only new addition, but in fact the first phase of what would appear to be an expansion to the parks outdoor area, over the next two years.

In this topic on the fan-site Theme Park NL, it is discussed that the Dutch theme park has applied for further planning permission to install another 3 attractions behind the Booster Bike in 2013.

Included in these attractions are;

- A 'Duck Themed' Carousel, there aren't really any leads as to what this actually is, but it certainly sounds very 'Toverland' :p

-A Heege Tower, this is likely to be very similar to the 'Space Tower' at LegoLand Windsor. Seen in the image below (Picture Credit to CLLW)

-And most importantly perhaps, is a brand new rapids ride built by Hafema, who are probably most famously known for River Quest at Phantasialand. The plans state that the ride will be 460m long and will have a straight station with a conveyor loading system, and 10, 9 person boats. While, Toverland's new rapids don't look quite as innovative as River Quest, and more of a just a standard rapids ride, they will still be a great addition to the park.

All the plans and associated documents can be seen via a link in the topic on ThemeParkNL.

I have to say, this looks to be a fantastic step forward for Toverland and they are certainly hitting many of the right buttons for a family park, and I will be sure to make another trip once it's all finished, even if it is only an excuse to get back and ride troy again ;).

I guess all we have to do now is hope that it gets permission and that they don't run out of money :p

Very good! Excited for the future of this park. :)

The best thing about big new additions at Toverland is that you get a buy-one-get-one-free effect, as it always panics Efteling into pulling their socks up and adding something new as well. :P

Great news. Hope the rapids work. Bobbejaan have one of these, and the main funky feature doesn't work!

I am pleased to see that they are adding more outdoor attractions as it was rumoured a few years back that they was thinking of adding a new warehouse, which is not really needed considering what they have already

The planning website has absolutely loads of documents so I have put the two main plans below.

The duck carousel is meant to be a duckmill, hopefully they will theme it a bit better than this.

Toverland have jumped on board the 2018 rollercoaster bandwagon and officially announced the addition of a B&M Wing Coaster, which will open alongside a 'boat ride' from MACK Rides as part of a new themed area.

The park will also open a new entrance area in 2018 with 'several restaurants, shops and an outdoor stage'.
