Hi Nemmychick,

Can you give me a little more detail around what browser and what browser version you are using?

Do you have javascript enabled in your browser?

Thanks.
Big Dave

Might seem daft, but have you got it minimised?

I am using MSIE 9.0 and yes, Javascript is enabled, but do I need Adobe or something like that? This laptop is brand new, see.
Thanks

If your computer is saying you don't have Java installed try going here and downloading one of the Windows versions. It shouldn't make much of a difference which one you pick if you are downloading and installing on the same machine :)

Visit this site and tell me what you see. http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/shoutbox/

I know IE has loads of problems. Try using a different browser.

EDIT: Click the compatibility button on the address bar. Seems to sort it

Have you tried using an alternate browser? As Dave said Internet Explorer has lots of little niggles. Give it a try using Chrome, Safari, or FireFox and see if you have the same issue. At least then we can try and narrow down what it is :)

Java has nothing to do with the shoutbox, it's Javascript.

EDIT: Didn't bother to read the last page in full.

Just wondering.... Have you installed all the updates if its a new laptop? Just going through a list of things ut could be.

I mean, the shoutbox is a fairly standard bit of software. All browsers should work fine with it. Chat is a little more complex, but as long as you have java installed, there should be no issues.

My phone, which is fairly old, will happily load shoutbox.
