I was just looking at some videos at The Big Bad Wolf and made myself feel gutted that I never got to ridden this coaster, I decided to create a topic on TTF and see what coasters You guys missed out on.

Here you can pick 5 (or more if you wish to) defunct coasters that you missed out on, they can include ANY coaster that no longer exists, You can also include:
  1. orginal coasters before they were Modified E.G Steel Phantom before it was turned into Phantom's Revenge
  2. SBNO coasters that are unlikely to ever reopen
My top 5 are:

1.Big Bad Wolf (Busch Gardens Europe)
2.Drachen Fire (Busch Gardens Europe)
3.The Bat (King's Island)
4.Eagles Fortress (Everland)
5.Ultra Twister (Six Flags Astroworld)

what are yours

:)

The Crystal Beach Cyclone.

It's ten times more insane than anything GCI or GG would build, in fact it killed quite a lot of people:

When a ride is that insane it needs a nurse on stand-by near to it...

Nice topic.

For me, it will always be the Black Hole. There is something very special about it that has always fascinated me, and I would of loved a chance to have experienced it. I would of also loved to have ridden the Thunder Looper. Otherwise, Eagles Fortress at Everland did look rather epic. If it got the thumbs up from Theme Park Review, then it was bound to be good! It was sad to see that ride go from the coaster world- it will be missed.

The original Space Mountain: De la Terre a la Lune. While it's still the same layout, the original just had more class.

Back in those days the "cannon" would recoil after firing.

And the soundtrack was so damn good! (This is the best POV I could find; you can actually see the bit on the lift hill with the smiling moon)

Cop Car Chase (lethal weapon) at Movie Park Germany.

I wish I had visited the park when still under Warner control. The remains of what they put in back then are amazing as it is!

In no particular order, Eagle's Fortress, Drachen Fire, Crystal Beach Cyclone, Flashback and Moosault Scramble are the ones that come to mind first.

I love Space Mountain: Mission 2, but the original was beautiful. Am I right in thinking that part of the original queue line went through the ride area, and you could see the trains and theming inside the ride building before you rode?

^ Yeah, I sadly never went on it, but it did have a beautiful queue line. I think it was called the Interstellar Walkway? You follow the same route on the SM:M2 queue but they've covered it all up.

Shame

I'm torn between the two Space Mountain's... I love them both for different reasons, and launching from the bottom of the cannon is so much better...

And just as a heads up, Eagles Fortress is actually still standing, so you never know...

Black Hole

Because I never rode it and it sounds AWESOME!!

Space Mountain (original)

So I could compare it to Mission 2 (which I love).

Space Mountain: De la terre à la lune is a definite for me too.

But unlike most I’m not entirely sold on the “It was so much better before argument”. There were several improvements made with the new system including a lower and longer launch, new sound system and some stunning special effects. While the new soundtrack is not as good it still syncs perfectly and was composed by the same man who wrote the music for The Incredibles which gives it a feel I really like. Also the canon certainly still fired on my visit right after Mission 2 launched. The only real downside I see is the loss of the Interstellar Walkway to the rather bland space pictures corridor. But they did have good reason for this. Apparently the Walkway let too much light into the mountain, spoiling the appeal of being in absolute darkness. So while its removal made the queue worse the onboard experience became better.

A good site explaining all this can be found here, I think this is the one anyway:

I've got to start wearing my Space Mountain pin badge again, I'm such a fanboy

Space Mountain wasn't amazing pre-Mission 2 - I went towards the end of its' life (2004 - I don't remember the Canon 'firing') and it wasnt much to shout about besides pretty theming in the queue. The ride was mostly in darkness and I'm sure has been majorly enhanced by a single launch. It was so rough back then aswell - I think I remember there being 1 train which was brilliant (and I assume was there as a testbed before it was rolled out across the others) but the rest bashed you about no end.

Black Hole also - a fun little ride but I'm pretty sure those who didn't go on it but now want to would be underwhelmed. I don't think it was ever anybody's favourite in its last few years.

My 5 would be:
Virginia Reel - a reel tragedy (hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaahaha) this one, I'm sure if it had managed to hold on just another couple of years it would have been saved.
Thunder Looper - I know there's loads of Schwarzkopf launched loops still about, but the position (and relative height) of this one makes it just that bit more special.
BMRX - having been on Knightmare and knowing what an awesome ride it is, you can't help but wonder how awesome it would have been with the theming intact. I hope when/if Camelot goes under this beast makes it to an owner with the capital to spend on reinstating it.
Thriller - can't believe nobody else has mentioned this - supposed to be awesome, and going by Schwarzy's track record (and the ride's record for bringing riders back to the station unconscious!) I have no reason to disbelieve that.
Grand National (pre Fire) - the consensus seems to be that the new trains and KumbaK's new system have made the ride feel not so good. I just hope the same isn't said of the Scenic when/if the restoration happens.

Edit: just one more from me:
Led Zeppelin - but tbh I'd just liked to have visited the park. Visited Myrtle Beach in the Pavilion's final season and it was an awesome experience.
