I have a feeling this might be the same shop, as it did seem a bit odd for the Black hole as its a round shop, and from what I remember when we had a look at it the other week on the back of it there were some shutters, which of course would never be used in its location of the black hole tent. I suppose they thought it would have more use for the black hole as Oblivion has vending machines anyway.

Which are never used and need ripping out.

Oblivion's queue is quite often back into the first tunnel, typically it tends to back just before the bunker. I think they should reinstate that shop, particularly as they have now started building them for Air, Rapids and Th13teen.

:)

The main problem with the vending machines is that they are on the wrong side of the queue line, as you have to go under the fence to buy anything. But they must sell things from them otherwise they wouldnt bother with them. After all there are about 5 or 6 machines in there.

They probably cost more to run and maintain than they make in revenue. :P

Some of theses food buildings have been build in poor places. The 1 on Air is 2 close to the ride station&13 as well. As there no way you could drink a hot drink by the time you get on the ride. I think on the flume&the rapids the queue doesnt get a queue as far as where the shop is unless it's a very hot day so most the time it was closed. When I went 2 weeks ago. The shops on the rapids,13,Rita were closed. Not sure about Spinball as I used the single rider queue.

Anyway I am shocked how slow things are moving along. Alton use to take there time building great coasters/rides like Nemesis,Rapids,Haunted House,Hex,Air&Oblivion but I feel they rushed Spinball,Rita,Charlie,13&now Sub terra. I know there sorting Sub Terra now but if they had started this is the summer they wouldn't have needed to close it down for a week. They could have even had a preview week just for a couple of hours during Feb half term to test the ride out on guests&still had another month to get it sorted.
With about 10 months to the start of the 2013 season I would have though that at least all the ground would have been cleared and leveled ready for the footers to go in.

Yeah it looks about right timetable-wise for a big Eurofighter.  Didn't it say in the planning documents they want it starting vertical construction in September?  This would match Saw, which flew up; plus a few extra weeks to account for extra track length.

I guess a side bonus could be that some hurdles in the construction can be better anticipated for SW7 because of previous experience building Saw.  No idea what these hurdles may be mind.  :P

BH tent top is still on site but is now off the trailer. Bit odd I think.

Full view from that angle (note the shop is missing now)

I am told you can see it from the roof of the towers, so I'm guessing it's gone behind cred street for a bit of TLC, probably to return later.

BTW just notived one of the sheds has also been removed too.

To one of the many storage areas might be behind the Dark Forest with the Ugland (and other large) pieces of themeing or it could be somewhere in and around Cred Street.

I wonder when we will see any construction happening?
I went yesterday and there wasen't a whole lot going on, but then again, I suppose they have to completely clear the area before anything happens.

I tried to look over when I was on oblivion, but was more into the drop than anything :D

Well, here we go again!  I always enjoy watching a new construction project at AT and I, like many of you, have been coming here over the years to watch projects as far back as AIR!  I look forward to spending some time here with you guys over the next 10 months watching this beast of a Eurofighter come to life!  Should be a good project to watch this one. :)

I didn't even have the Internet at my parents home to 1999.

I would have thought they would have build theme boarding around the site.
Oblivion was the best construction site.

*Rubs hands with glee*

Surely the next major thing to happen would be the Black Hole 'arch' being demolished?  :)
