To duel they both need to leave the lift hills at the same time. This was worked out by a video posted by a member on these forums.

Also, what a gorgeous day for it! With this sun, and the train and effects seemingly working, they would be mad not to open it today!!lewis97 wrote:

ARGHHHHHHH CAN'T WAITTTTTT on the good old 32A to Alton Towers WOOOOOO
I really hope it's open today.... With everything that's been said I'm sure it will but I am going insane waiting (sorry mods can't contain the excitement)
Testing is ALWAYS good news might leave this till the end of the day so I can queue till whenever
Also are there smiler staff at the entrance yet? Or is it just a construction guy with a hard hat.... Any construction workers on site or is it all twisted steel and staff?
See you all soon XD (Photos from me later.... Probably only a few cause no camera only got phone.... So will do what I can )

Two trains going round but probably one in station loading and one on the break run.sully1311 wrote: Two trains? Wow the queues are going to be stupidly long

Towers Nerd brings us a short video of the first test of the day:

It seems to be screeching a little still, but nowhere near as badly as it was.

I think he means running 2 trains at once? (dueling) They will probably have 4 trains running today, I would have thought. But maybe they will only have 2 trains running, to get used to operating with the public.sully1311 wrote: Two trains? Wow the queues are going to be stupidly long
This sign suggests they may only be using a limited number of trains because it is a soft opening, therefore making the queue very long.

Looking likely today barring a malfunction of some sort which I wouldn't rule out.
Very jealous of all of you.
I have to wait till September now.

Some more smaller, but still good news. The lift is not horrifically slow! You can watch it here:
